Do you find some pop songs have extremely funny lyrics?

I must be getting old. Last night a neighbour was playing music very loudly. I couldn't stop laughing at some of the lyrics - "rock you like a rodeo, rodeo" - to me this sounded hilarious. Do you think this type of thing sounds creative?

No, not at all. It seems to me as if they just forced the lyrics to fit as long as it rhymes. Good songs to me would have lyrics that are poetic. Or maybe I'm getting old as well.

If you actually listen to the lyrics of a lot of songs, some of them are rather funny. One of the funniest things is that you often sing along to these songs, using the correct lyrics, but yet you just don't realise just how amusing they are until you think about the words that you're saying. A lot of the time, I think that the song writers are just trying too hard to make their songs rhyme and will use any lyrics that enable them to do this. If they were to spend a little more time thinking about what they write, I am sure that they would be able to find things that both rhyme and make some sense at the same time.
