do tv stations show too many infomercials?

I think there are too many infomercials and home shopping shows on tv. My tv currently has 7 tv channels showing home shopping or infomercial shows now. That leaves 8 channels showing something else - namely reruns of old serials, news and sport. I have noticed morning shows aimed at housewives also inclued infomercials during the show as well as commerical breaks during the programs. This seems so wrong to me. What do you think?
