Would someone know what is the causes of having a chicken skin in underarm? My mother have this chicken skin in her underarm and she already consulted this to a dermatologist. They gave her a cream that will remove it but after sometime it comes back. This is also causes her to limit herself not to wear sleeveless. Are there someone who have this situation ? What solution did you implement?

That comes when you have the habit of using tweezers for your armpit hairs. When you pull them out instead of waxing or shaving, you'll develop those chicken skin. I don't think if they'll ever go back to normal if we're talking about a lifetime of tweezers-use. My mom and I don't do that at all. We only shave or wax. Further, you should tell her not to do that anymore. I have known of a lot of women who had developed cysts in their armpits because of pulling. It seems that when you pull out hairs, the pores of where those hairs came from remains open, and when bacteria comes inside they develop cysts - which could only be taken out with surgery. So, be clean, be safe, just wax or shave. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Thank you for the info. Now I have to stop plucking before it could get worse or before it gets really ugly.

yes my under arm or my armpit before is like a chicken skin i think that was because of my deodorant that i used before,it will darken my armpit and make it a chicken skin so after i change my deodorant my armpit become more whiter and not a chicken skin now.

Plucking or removing the hair with the use of tweezers...is the common cause of chicken skin. And also the use of strong deodorant. The skin on our armpit is really sensitive, so it's better use natural base deodorant and try to apply lemon juice to your armpit before you take a bath.

Smooth underarms - Are yours smooth?
I think chicken skin happens when you pull the hair in your underarm. So if your mother is doing this, that could be the reason. She must just shave her underarm hair to avoid the chicken skin. She will see her skin getting smoother when she completely stops pulling hair. Actually your Mon could have preserved the smoothness of her underarm like that of a child if you did not pull hair from the start.

Mine is a little like that. And it is so annoying. I have inherited it from my mother. My sister has got nice armpits. I would bleach it every now and then with white henna and hydrogen peroxide and it gets lighter. It's tiring but I have to sometimes.
