If you surf the internet a lot in search of cross stitch patterns or material etc, I am sure most of us have went to the website Golden Kite.
This onsite place is a gold mine of wonderful pieces to cross stitch.
But 9 years ago, this man along with the company created The Project.
Gary is the guys name and he did this on 26ct linen using silk threads.
Most of us have never ventured beyound DMC or Anchor floss etc.
Using silk is very different than cotten floss.
It thins out quicker and you cannot stitch as fast as you normally would with a standard floss.
Anyway I am including the link because I followed him through this process the whole time and wanted to make sure that anyone that loved cross stitch as much as I do would love to take a peek and see how this man worked through such an awesome piece.
You will be able to see updates, questions asked and he answered personally.
Its amazing how many men are out there cross stitching and us girls just don't hear about it very much.
I know my husband always fusses at me and says I don't have a clue how you see that to work on.
Anyway here is the link to go to to see The project. It is user friendly and you can click on any of the links within the project to view more.
You do not have to sign up for anything to see this masterpiece and meet the man that did the largest cross piece on the internet.
Enjoy

LOL yea I just can't imagine I have one piece I started on 32 ct linen.
Its pretty neat looking but I notice the threads are thicker and thinner in linen.
I was so scared my piece would not look balanced.
So called my girlfriend and she said just start it and once you get a row done you will see that it looks ok.
I started it the day my mother passed away, but life got in the way and I have not finished it.
But I will get back to it because I found the linen quite fascinating to work with.
