Oh I get it now, I think.

Some of this whole myLot thing is also about how you promote yourself withing the myLot community. You can see from your profile how many views you get each day and how many times your profile has been viewed ever. If you are creating quality content, that is content that is interesting enough get a lot of views and participation then more people check out your profile. Since you can see comments on other people's profile then why not add a comment, its a link back to your profile. I would love to hear your thoughts about this. Do you agree it's a good thing to do? Would it bother you... I mean did it bother you when I add a comment to your profile?

Hi ircurts and welcome to myLot! I rarely add comments to other Lotters' profiles and I have removed the comment box from my own profile after a spate of spam comments were left by unscruplous users years ago, thinking that they could use my profile to gain referrals for the sites that they were promoting If I want to communicate with a friend here then I use PMs rather than profile comments. I think that, if there is any need to promote ourselves here on myLot, then we do it with our participation in the discussions rather than with our profile. I use my profile for promotions outside myLot rather than here.

Yeah that thing about the spamming profile comments kind of stinks eh? I didn't see much of that at all as I added thank yous to some of my friend's profiles however. I respect your opinion do think that there is nothing wrong with a little self promotion as long as it's within the rules. This may be more true for someone new than some one that has a very active myLot experience. I know that I hope for more profile views for a few reasons. Of course I one or more affiliate links there, I open myself up a bit and there are discussions I have started that I hope get more attention because I really want to hear from others and find out their experiences.

Oh I have nothing against self promotion. It's just that I think that it is better seen and done through expressing ourselves in our participation Are you hoping for more profile views aolely from myLotters or from outside myLot too? If the latter is the case then you can promote your profile on other sites too. Even adding the link to your profile (with your referral link at the end maybe?) at the bottom of any emails that you send out might be a quick, easy and free way to get some views.

Oh absolutely from within and without the myLot community. No matter if there are bounties for referrals or not, more people sounds like a good thing to me. Yes I am reestablishing myself online after a long time where I very... uhm.. antisocial and far more cynical about earning and social networking. As I explore all the cool new stuff out there I will absolutely link up this myLot profile.

Hi there and welcome to myLot! I and several others have tried using the feature with no success, it seems that for some it works while for others it doesn't. I have seen some nice graphic comments from the past but not any recently. I don't try to promote me here outside of having fun and sharing during discussions here.

No , not at all. But i am not into promoting myself here in Mylot. I just simply enjoy responding and discussing as honest as i can. Sometimes, when a mylotter catches my attention because is find his views nice , i would try to go to his profile and look for some information about him. I guess, that way i get to know him more specially if there are pictures.
