Nightmare about puppets

I had a nightmare when I was 5 or so where these puppets tormented me by appearing in front of me and when i called for my mom, they disappeared. Then they came back again. Then i looked down and saw the puppet from Goosebumps(the one with red hair) and he just stared at me motionless. Then i woke up and i can still vividly see the dream today, but i have never had it again. I believe i had this nightmare, because of watching too much goosebumps and Chucky movies as a child but i dont know.

Just don't watch the Muppet's or you may never sleep again lol. It's not an uncommon fear, some people just are terrified by them. Me I can't get enough of them, if I even put a sock on my hand and draw on some eyes, I'm entertained for hours

Hello Dear Chicky! I can understand and I believe it is a natural thing for that age to have happen like that! That is an age when we don't have exposure to the truth of the World! We live in the world of imagination which is very much exaggerated in nature! So our subconscious brain also acts like that! What ever we see during that time we believe that it is true and subconsciously these things are registered in our brains and at an appropriate time these things emerge out in the forms of dream as our brain doesn't have any other things to attend at that age! Now with the growing or aging we experience many new things in our life and realise the difference between the truth and fallacy! We understand what is real and what is fake! we develop the understanding to differentiate between a fact and fiction. So our brain acts accordingly and it no more encourage to dream those things which were interesting once upon a time as now the priorities of the life have changed so also the thinking process which has resulted into the change n the subconscious state of the brain! So it is no wonder why we don't dream about these things of childhood any more! For that matter no body can dream a same dream for twice as it is often shown in the movies! There has to be some variation in the dream as subconscious thoughts can't be 100% similar every time! Thanks for the discussion! I liked participating in it! Thanks !

I can't give you anymore insight than what you have given yourself. When I was younger I used to recurring nightmare that the Cheetos cat was chasing me around town. Sometimes I would lose a show, sometimes I would lose my shirt ... it was just scary. Now, 25 years later, I have never found a deeper meaning from that dream. So, just rest easy and try to have only good dreams these days ;)
