I had my laptop since 2007. It is missing its DVD drive and still I am using it. I am thinking of replacing it but this baby has done so many deeds to me. I am reluctant to let go. Do you react the same way to your laptop? I am curious.

Hi zalilame, I purchased the laptop I'm using currently in Aug 2008. It serves its purpose very well in the whole. The only thing that get me disappointed is its webcam can't work anymore for quite some time. Therefore whenever my son who lives in another state can't see me when we have our pleasant chat online. I'm glad that I still can see him. I ask him to imagine the scene I'm chatting with him... Even though I still feel reluctant to replace it with a brand new one as my laptop has accompanied me for almost three years. I have gained countless of happiness having all kinds of amusements online and acquired lots of info and knowledge using my, this loving device for the past few years. It's friendly to our environment as well if we don't replace our device that frequently

I'm glad to know that someone over there loves and cherish his old device like me as well I haven't had time to visit your profile yet and therefore I don't have any idea where are you from. Yeah, we have the same procrastinated habit to replace our old device. At first I had made a decision to get a brand new one after I have been using it for at least 3 years, but now I put off my decision. I think I will buy a new one until I can't delay anymore like it can't work properly anymore.

We are almost the same. Every time my friend persuaded me to buy a new one I keep telling myself that my laptop still serves its purposes and I keep telling myself maybe another next month. But month after month I still cling to my laptop. Now it has been 4 years going 5. I love my laptop.

I don't feel like that so much when it comes to computers because by the time I'm ready to replace one, it's usually driving me nuts with its problems and slow speed. I'm more than ready for a newer, faster one. It's automobiles that get to me. Even if they don't run, I feel like I'm betraying a friend when I sell or trade them off.

Maybe because I had it for so long that I was attached to it.

Could be. We live a lot of life on/with our computers.

HI sis! If you think that you need the new one then buy a new laptop for you and at the same time still use the old laptop as we did not know till when we can use the old one. I got my laptop since 2008 and it still wrk fine to me so I don't think I need to buy the new one.(^^)

Hi Zalilame, Absolutely YES! I have the same kind of feel when I purchase a replacement for something we adore the most. You have the same with your laptop and I am connected to my mobiles. I have four mobiles and think that I should dump them and purchase a new one, but my heart does not allow me to do so, it always knocks me saying that it is ours and have put our money and been using it for quite sometime. So do not sell them, however keep them with you and could be useful at anytime. I decided not to sell any of the mobiles, if at all I need a new one, I just go and purchase a new one.

That is a good advice. I am pretty picky so I do not know when I will get my new laptop. Thanks for the advice.
