well,i do not know who is the lucky one! Me or my laptop! Last night I was using my laptop and having a hot chocolate at the same time! Bad choice! I do not remember how(must've been the shock) but my Hot chocolate spilled on the keyboard!!!! Panic time !The thing shut off instantly,I jumped up,unplugged it,put it on its side and started shaking the liquid out of it. Then ran in the kitchen and put it with the keyboard face down on a towel.I was extremely upset,I can;t afford repairs, nevermind a new one.So very worried, I made myself leave it alone for 12hours. When I tried to plug it in,was totally dead. I felt like crying, but I took it to Best buy(the store where I bought it,They have technicians there, and told them that it needs CPR! The guy plugged it in and IT WORKS!!!!!!.I could have kissed him.Soooo happy. According to the help sites on the net I did the right thing, but if the liquid would have hit some sensitive part under the keyboard, that would have been it!.I am buying a wireless waterproof keyboard and put the laptop trough the TV.As far from me and any liquid as I can.Anybody had this happen?

It never happened to me and I wish it will never happen. Although, my notebook is not that really expensive but I still treasure it. That is why, in the office, it is not advised to put a cup of coffee beside the keyboard. If we are going to put our drink beside us,make sure the cap is close.

Trust me! My drink is now at a respectable distance, and I am very careful.Lightening might hit twice, but I do not think my luck would hold for a repeat!!!!

Wow were you very lucky! Several years ago, I bought my daughter a brand new Sony Laptop which was not cheap. She was using it on the kitchen counter and I went to put my glass of juice down and wow, I spilled it on her entire laptop. Oh my I began to cry more then she. Luckily I did buy the extended warranty which covered spill damage, mind you the laptop was only a few weeks old. So after claiming it to Sony, they no longer carried the laptop anymore, so we got a brand new upgrade. Thankfully I was always one of those that often thought extra insurance is so worth it. I am glad yours worked as same here my friend I would not have been able to purchase her another as I had bought hers and my son's at the same time.

Lucky you! or your wallet definitely! :) Too bad, didn't have your luck when that happened to me. In my case it was just water :/ I kind of knocked my glass over one day and it spilled all over my laptop too! When I tried typing on the keyboard, all that came out were gibberish so I shut it down and turned it 90 degrees so the water could trickle out of the keyboard. Well it kinda worked, but around 15 buttons on my keyboard doesn't work know, which is very frustrating when I want to type fast! Its been months and I still haven't found the time to have it checked out by the computer repair shops. I really should try and find time one of these days! You mean to tell me everything in your laptop works fine? Like nothing happened? God some people have all the luck! :))
