Shocing news for India. Zaheer ruled out of remainder of the series against England. He developed hamstring injury on the first day of the first test of the series. It was thought that he would be able to bowl in the second innings of the match. when it was found that the injury is little more serious than earlier expected, many thought that he will at least be able to play in the third test but now it is found out that he, not only has got hamstring but also has some problem with his ankle which requires surgery followed by 14-16 weeks period for rehabilitation. He has been replaced by left arm seamer R.P. Singh. It is really a bad news for India because Without Zaheer Indian attack looks toothless. It appears Swan's prediction is beginning to take shape. What do you feel?

I agree its a very bad news mate , i hope Zaheer becomes fit for Australia series in December.Such a waste of talent due to injuries but we cant help it.Dhoni,Kirsten and Simmons managed with weak Indian bowling and made to work that out somehow but they were successful and eventually India managed to win the world cup .However it was never a permanent solution, strong batting saved India the horror but now when batting is a failure Indian team is looking down and dusted. Its time for another transformation like in happened after last England tour of India in 2007 , Indians were successful in that tour in test series though but anyhow India looked beyod Dravid, Ganguly and Sachin, its time that India should find new talents both in batting and bowling, even if they lose some series during this process its nothing wrong in that.As we all know Sachin,Dravid ,Laxman,Sehwag and Zaheer are very important for India and whenever they dont play ,Indian team looks weak ,so what will happen when these guys retire, Sehwag and Zak will not retire so soon but they are injury prone. Its time India should look for replacements, look at the Aussies ,they were dependent on their key players and when they left the team ,they started struggling.Same should not happen with India. Its a good move to get RP back, i think selectors should seriously think of getting Irfan Pathan back too ,he is only left arm bowler in the country who can match Zaheer in temperament and talent.

Its not a magic wand indeed but right intent and approach is important, when a simple Indian fan can understand that ,i wonder why cant the big boys who are sitting at the top are not understanding this thing.Yuvi has not played longer version of the game even at first class level from long time and Raina was complete failure in SA still both these players were playing in a high profile series only on the basis of their ODI performances, instead they could have brought more conventional players suited to this format like Jaffer, Rahane or Badrinath, even if they failed there was a hope that things are going in right direction. You remember Bevan who was a match winner for Aussies in ODIs just like Raina is for India, he had a similar technique,he in-spite of having resilient temperament was a failure in test cricket .If this is the vision of Indian team management that Raina and Yuvi will replace Dravid and Laxman then no one can help Indian cricket. However i should make this clear that i am not presenting myself as master of cricket and Indian team management as fools, obviously they know cricket much better than millions like me,its just that Indian team was clearly unprepared, and hence the decisions were taken in a hurry. If BCCI was so keen on milking the success of India becoming world champs through IPL they should have cancelled the WI tour and should have sent players at-least three weeks before this important series.England has not won any series against India since 1996,also India won the test series in 2007 and now they are beating Indian team as if its a school team.England never dominated India like this since last 20 years, its very hard for die hard Indian fans to bear this , that includes me.

I understand appreciate your views but you have to understand that both Yuvi and Raina were considered as our big future prospects. It is with great pain that all of us accepted the fact that Yuvi does not have test cricket temperament and Raina is short of requisite technique to play at that level in that format of the game. we all expected that they be given more chance considering the quality of the game they possessed. Badrinath was a great failure in Caribbeans. As about Jaffer, I agree that great injustice has been done to a really talented opener. One bad series in Australia and he was given unceremonious exit may be some issues other than cricket must have played part here. As about Rahane, I am not sure. All the players who score tons of runs or show exquisite technique in domestic cricket are not necessarily good enough at international level. As about future prospects I feel Rohit sharma and Virat Kohli are good enogh to replace our greats in near future in spite of later's failure in Caribbeans.

Thank you dubey. replacement is not magic wand it is a slow and continuous process. We have already got replacement for all these players but their shoes are so big that it is very difficult to find the feet of that size. Players like Virat Kohli, Sharma and many more are talented enough to take India into next decade. We have to give them some time to develop.

Oh it any blow to INDIAN team and what a blow they have May Zaheer got fit as early as possible but It quite a problem for INDIA in england and with Best bowler of the team out it not easy to cope. Rp is a good bowler and he may adjust the condition as well and do well so that INDIA can win the macth.

It indeed is rajiv. Without Zaheer Indian team goes out morally. Zaheer, apart from his bowling ability, is a great moral booster for bowlers like Sreesanth and Ishant. Their performance blossoms in his presence. RP is indeed a good bowler if he finds his rhythm. He is a swing bowler like Pravin Kumar and performs better in English conditions. Let us see how we perform in second test. I keep my fingers crossed.

Thank you warrior. R.p. is going to be good success in England as Pravin Kumar as both of them are in the same mold. Unfortunately he may not be able to play in the third test as he will require some time to get himself acclimatized with English conditions.

Its really socking news. But nothing to do,India is realli passing very tough time. R.P is also good.but without Zaheer, its really hard to get result from seamers. But still we can keep our belief on Ishannth,Sresanth and Praven kumar and at the same time we hope that batsmen will do their job 100 percent, then success will come, thus Swan will get his answer very soon.

Thank you dabangladehi. The real test is for Sehwag and Gambhir. if both of them fire up then they will change the mood in the dressing room and whole situation will change. Let us hope for the best.
