I don't know what this is about but my almost 9yo has wanted to start wearing a training bra. Though the ones she has are flat with no cup or anything on them. I think it makes her feel more grown up. But ironically yesterday I was talking to a customer at work who said she couldn't believe she was buying her daughter a training bra already. I asked the lady how old her daughter was and she said 6!! We were talking a bit as the transaction proceeded and then I told her I didn't feel so weird anymore as my almost 9yo wants to wear them as well! We had a good chuckle that once you do develop and have boobs and are further along in life you hate wearing them.
When did your daughter's (or yourself) have an interest in wearing a training bra?

My daughter started High School at ten years old - this was because she is bright academically. However the other girls were 123 years plus and so of course she developed physically much later than they did.
At around twelve or nearly thirteen she said that the other girls thought that she needed a training bra so we went out and bought some. she was flat as a pancake but I think that she just wanted to fit in
My 10 - 11 in December year old GD does not wear one as yet and has not asked her Mom. But she wears the little matching bests and panties that are made for little girls.
Yep. As I reach home I want to tale off my bra

9 yrs old is fine because some kids really grows big this days and also start to have lump and they feel like they really wanted to have undies/bra that adult uses.
My daughter started hers when she's 12.
She's even feel shy wearing it the first time and I need to convinced her that she really needs to have them because she's already a young teen.
But now,I can see some girls as early as 9 wearing ones due to those visible lump and they really need to hide or use a proper support.

she's not starting to develop yet I think because many have such cute lil prints on them and she wants to grow up a lil bit more and be more grown than her lil sis. They also call the kids from 9-12 tweens here because they start acting like teenagers before their time.

My daughter was about 10 when she asked to wear a training bra. I found it cute to have her ask as she was so flat and I felt the under shirts were just fine. But I went ahead and purchased a few and because they were flat it was fine with me. Now that she is much older I am sure she wishes she did not have to wear the darn things. lol

Training bra memories. Some good some not so good LOL.
I was 12. Girls were starting to develop but I wasn't. However my mother thought I needed one and I kept telling her I DIDN't!
Well her and I got into one of these arguments one day, so I went in to my dad who had just come home and had the paper held up to read, and I looked at my dad and said DAD tell MOM I don't need a training bra!
My dad put down the paper and said what?
I said it again...Mom is trying to make me wear a training bra. I don't NEED one.
He chuckled a little and told my mother that he agreed with me that he did not think I needed one either.
She come around the corner and stated, Fine Let her get Cancer! Dad and I took one look at each other and just laughed.
Mom did not think it was funny. And SHE still made me wear them even though I was flat as a pancake too!
That was a nightmare for me.
The kids on the bus would grab the back of the strap just to tell others yep she was wearing it.UGH!

I never had an interest in wearing a training bra. Heck, I don't even like wearing a bra now! LOL However, I have to, at least when I go out, as I need 'em to have support.
By the way, I started wearing a training bra when I was about 8. I didn't want to, even though I had started to "develop". I was told by a family member that if I didn't start wearing a bra, one boob would turn out to be bigger than the other. Needless to say, I believed her. I was too scared not to wear them after that! LOL
Happy mylotting!

I believe that most girls become very aware of their bodies around the age of 10 so I think that it is perfectly normal for a 9 year old. However, I do think that 6 is a little young and I believe that as a mother I would have told the girl that she really didn't need one at that age.

Ok some young ladies do start developing around 9 or 10, Dearra did, but 6? That's pretty crazy...
Naomi will be 11 next month, and the only reason I even brought it up to her is that she's starting middle school.

I was a chubby kid.. so I wore my first training bra around the age of 7. I think for me it was also just to feel more grown up. I didn't actually need one until I was about 12.
My daughter is also almost 9 and I have not thought about buying her one yet.

Wow, 6 seems pretty young for one. For some reason kids these days are growing up faster than what their age is. I think I started wearing a training bra when I was in 6th grade, so probably at about 10 years old. To me, 9 doesn't seem too young and I think your daughter will be just fine.
