Do any of you mylotters know of any word processing programs and spreasheet like programs that are free to download online? Thanks soooo much in advance!

Openoffice is a free software. You can also try staroffice or ashampoo office. These are also free. I think as we are familiar with MS office the other software is taking time to accustomed.

The best free alternative to Microsoft Office is OpenOffice. You can download it here: http://www.openoffice.org/

Open Office will not only open Microsoft Office files, but it can create them as well. When you write a document or spreadsheet, simply use Save As and select Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel as the file type.

i have openoffice too. though i use abiword for wordprocessing, which is also free, mainly because i find it very easy to use, and i just like it. but thats only a wordprocessor, whereas openoffice is a proper microsoft office replacement.
