Okay let me clarify, after responding to a post on prayer I began to think about how my husband and I are intercessors (always praying for others)and never really ask God for much on our behalf but always have others needs up before him. However, we know that God knows our needs before we even ask but was wondering if someone in a similar circumstance continued to pray for others and prayed for themselves as well at what point would you consider it to be a selfish prayer. What do you call a selfish prayer?

well for one i really dont think a prayer can be selfish, not the way you are talking about. for God dose say. "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 what i get from this is no mater what we pray for, for it to be about other or about our self God loves us so much that he will give it to us that he will open the door for us, if it is in his will. Keep on praying for others but the bible never says to not pray for your self's too. Hope this helps God bless.

We should not be a selfish prayer. We must pray for every sentient being on the mother earth. We must pray; let all the sentient beings be free of suffering, let all the sentient being fulfill their wishes in their life, let all the sentient beings be free of illness and bad health.
