Hi to all fellow mylotter... I just want to know your opinion because i have stumble with this site for quite a few time now that offers translation job. the problem is it require the person to pay to join the site but there is a 60 days money back guarantee if lets say the product doesn't reach the expectation. I'm really interested to join since I myself studied and holds a degree in translation before going to teaching profession. So to all mylotter please share your opinion. I can't give you the link here but if any of you are as curious and interested as I am just send me a message and I'll give you the link. I really love to hear from you guys and hopefully you can help me.

There are legitimate translation jobs on but the sad fact is most of the translator jobs posted on the internet are scams. I myself have seen and explored many of these sites and I've noticed that many of them would require you to pay a certain amount before you can gain access to their "jobs." To think of it, it is completely illogical to pay them to give you work when it should be the opposite. Also, I've notice on their posting that they will make the reader feel that he must grab the opportunity because you would lose a lot if you don't sign up. Same old dirty tactics by scammers. So if a site offering translator jobs requires you to pay in order to have that job, then that's a SCAM. Some legitimate translator jobs can be found at Elance, Odesk, or Freelancers. You will just bid with the employer and if he sees that you really got the qualification to do and finish the job, then you have it.

Steer clear of ANY site like that that asks you to pay before you can receive work! If a site asks you to complete some free tests before you can work with them, that would be quite OK, of course (and a sign that the site wanted some credentials from its workers), but if there are legitimate, paying jobs, any reputable employer will NOT ask for money before you can undertake them. There ARE translation jobs available but most of them require some kind of qualification to show that you are fluent in the languages required. If you can get those qualifications, then translation can be fairly well paid. My daughter does translation between French and English and charges, I believe, around £0.05 ($0.08) per word. It is quite in order, by the way, to post a link to a site, so long as it's not a referral link. In fact, in a discussion like this, where you are asking other people's opinions of a site, it would be preferable to post the URL of the site so that others may see the terms and kind of work offered.
