UK Riots

As some of you would have seen in the news, the UK is rioting. What started as trouble last week in London has now spread across the country with people going on the rampage. So far Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Glouster and Bristol have been affected. There are also unconfirmed reports of incidents in smaller areas around the UK too. Most of these people involved are children and young people who seem to be enjoying it. What they don't understand is that the violence they are showing is putting innocent peoples lives at risk and due to the damage and looting of shops are putting people out of work. Emergency services have been attacked by these mindless idiots and many of them are laughing and smiling. It's quite scary watching it on the news as I live only 30 minutes away from Manchester and 15 minutes from areas where there have been unconfirmed reports of incidents and I'm worried that it may spread to where I live. It's also sad watching it as Manchester is a city I grew up with, worked their and my family is from there and to see something knocked down and nearly beaten is sickining. This is all from mindless yobs with no concsceince or thought for anyone else but themselves. Some people have been interviewed on TV and have given the excuse of there being no jobs, no prospect and having no money. It's just immoral, stupid and selfish. Are there members from the UK that have had experience of these riots that are trying to tear the heart out of the UK? Has anyone ever been caught in a riot?

Forgot to say in response to what you said on my discussion........I also agree that it is scary to think that parents don't know where their children are and even worse that some parents are actually not bothered that there children are out doing these things! I do hope it is calming down now.

Everyone has been saying punish those that are doing the rioting and looting, but I also think something has to be done with the parents. OK, not all parents allow their children to run riot and have tried to help them, but there are definately some who just sit back and let them do what they want. Until their whole culture changes they don't understand how or why to change and it must start with those that have helped shape them, their parents.

Yes definitely - things will never change if young people are brought up by parents who think it is ok to do wrong
