Long Distance Relationships: Your Thoughts?

I have had my share of relationships through the years. However, this is my first time to be away from my girlfriend who is currently overseas. Some people can't last long in such situations for many understandable reasons. I must admit there are crazy days but, so far, we're doing fairly well. What's your opinion Mylotters, will you be able to handle it to be far from your significant other? And to those who are in such situations, can you share some from your experiences?

hi after 6years, this is our first time to be away with my boyfriend. I am currently working here, abroad..It's hard at first you miss a lot of things that you shared together. I almost cried at the airport, the situation at that moment is very emotional. But now I almost a month now here adjusting, we keep our communication as possible everyday, thanks to skype:)The long relationship should always has a full trust for both, in the future misunderstanding may occur in the relationship but the communication will stay no matter what happen, some say's it will not work, some experienced that situation But it will depend on the person both in the Long distance relationship.

Right. Communication is really important. Trust, communication and faith I think should always be there especially when you're apart. I'll be seeing her soon next month and I'm so excited!

I have no girl friend, hence i am not familiar with such feelings but as far as i can imagine, its hard to cope with such relationship. I have some overseas friends with whom i connect myself when ever i can. Have a nice day.

Me and my boyfriend for 4 years and half now are the same situation as yours. We are in this so called "long distance relationship and we're working pretty hard on it.We're actually doing well, thank GOD for everything. he's working abroad for our future. He calls everyday, we always have a good communication, fights that will turned into great heart to heart talk. Both of you must strive harder and love each other wholeheartedly. The main DON'T is please DON'T CHEAT ..B e faithful to her and put GOD in the center of your relationship. God bless

Yeah, as in every relationship, long distance or not, it takes a lot of EFFORT from both sides to make the love last. Cheating should be out of the question of course if you really want to keep the relationship intact. I also agree that communication should always be there. Non-communication, in my opinion, can be the number one relationship killer. Thanks for your very nice response!

Yes it is possible. It dpends on the intensisty of feelings you have for each other. It also depends on your mutual bonding. It is safe and desirable to persist with your relation. In all probability it works and chances are it may do you a world of good

You know what they say about how absence make the heart grow fonder? It can prove true to some people. That includes me of course. I added you as a friend!

for me, long distance relationship wont work, maybe for some it would do,but i think i cant handle that. Being away from your love one is difficult, even though you may say you have enough trust on him,its still difficult to know if that love one of yours is faithful on you or not:)

At this day and age, being faithful and maintaining trust is really tough and difficult. But nothing is easy, and if a relationship isn't worth trying hard for, it might not really be worth it. And yeah, being far from your loved one sucks. Hehe. Thanks for your response
