When we were students our teachers were the most near and dear people after our parents . They were strict and made us do homeworks but at the same time their love and guidance wasunmatched . Some exceptions will always be there but in general teachers were people for whom we had lots of reverence and awe . A combination of fear and love at childhood which developed to reverence and dependence at later stage . How have been your experience with teachers in school/college . Any teacher whom you want to mention specially and how have been your relation to him/her ?

I was a teacher for ten years, and it was a great experience even thought it took a lot of my energy, and my patience. But at the same time it helped me to love more the kids and know more about them. I remember when I said that i was to this countr ( I mean from Domincan Republic to US)that was very sad most of my kids cryed, they didn't want that I leave them, I was teaching english to 3rd, 4th 5th, 6th,and 7th, in the afternoon and in the night I was teaching to children 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years and 5 years. I still have the letters that they wrote to me, most of the were writen in english, they wanted to honor me writing in english, because their first language is spanish. One girl wrote a song for me, that was awesome, in the song sge was telling me all what learned with me, how she loves me. Oh my God, I feel like crying just for remember all my kids, God bless them! and I hope that I had seed something positive in their life, something that stays in their life for ever ever. Thanks for this discussions and bless you.

God bless you too! Yes being a teacher is a good experience! Is not a great salary but it feels great to see how the kids increase their knowledge with our help.

I agree. During our younger stages, we spend more than 50% of our day with our teachers, with them working everyday to make us better persons, members of our society. It's them who teaches us the facts versus fiction, the right versus wrong (alongside our parents, of course), the people who aids us in what we want to be in the future. Salute to teachers. :)

Thanks for your response . Yes we used to spend a lot of time with our teachers and the relationship was loke a father or mother . They scolded us when we were wrong and loved us simultananeously . I miss my teachers a lot !!!

it is true. there is a certain sense of respect, awe, and fear towards our teachers. especially when i was in primary school. their words were very commanding and valuable to our growing up years. but when i reached college, there was a change in me. i started to doubt and challenge what teachers said to me. i thought that learning derived from this kind fo discussion and doubt. some teachers appreciated it. some did not. but i learned a lot from my teachers.
