I often receive messages in the inbox of my mobile phone which state that I have won a reward of a huge amount from an unexpected source. I have received such messages on several occasions and in every case I am directed to submit my email address, telephone no, bank details, pass port size photograph and to contact a certain phone no for further direction. It is a well established fact that all such rewards are used as a trap to cheat people. How can I block the incoming of such unwanted messages?

You can try Do not disturb service by calling at 1909. Maybe that will help.

It's against the law for telemarketers to call people's mobile devices to leave those types of messages. However, since most companies like that use what's known as an auto-dialer, it's almost impossible to tell weather they're calling a legit phone number, or if they're calling a mobile device. This is even more difficult since all mobile devices have access to the voicemail system. So recordings can chatter away leaving messages time and time again. However, there are ways you can reduce calls like this. Look up the National DO NOT CALL list, and place your phone on it. The do not call list blocks auto-dialers and slows down the rate of unwanted spam calls. You can also call your cell phone provider and have your phone number blocked. Your phone company may charge for this service... but those are the only two options I can offer you. Now neither method is 100 percent foolproof, so you may get the occassional call now and again, but it shouldn't be constant. Now you may hate this one, but it's the most obvious. Answer the calls. Most of them offer an option to remove your phone number from their auto-dial directory, but you may have to listen to some speel to hear the "remove" option. That's what I've had to do. It will probably be needed as I said the above methods only slow down those types, but sometimes to stop them you must actually have to listen.

Is it a short code message or coming from a personal cell phone number? If it is short code message, your service provider will be able to block that for you. If it is a personal number, I don't have information on how to block it. There are certain phone model where you can block specific number. But if your phone doesn't support that, you can try to contact your service provider as well. But I believe the only incoming text message block that they have is for all incoming message but not to a specific number.

If you are using smartphones like Android and iPhone, you can download an app to filter those messages. Otherwise contact your service provider to block those messages for you.

I often do receive this messages and they do come from certain mobile number which is done manually and they are not created by the system. So even we cannot stop this services by informing to our operator.
