This article gave the results of a newly released survey by the Abu Dhabi Gallup Center, a partnership between Gallup and the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi. 80% of Muslim Americans approve of the way Obama is running the country 65% Jewish Americans approve of his job 60% of atheists, agnostics, and others with no religion approve 50% of Catholics approve 37% of Protestants approve 25% of Mormons approve I guess I'd fall into the Catholic group...but I don't fall into the 50% that approves. I'm puzzling over this survey. Who exactly did they ask? All I know is, they must be seeing something that I can't see! http://visiontoamerica.org/3099/obama-receives-highest-approval-among-muslims/

Those are high numbers for some groups. Do Protestants and Mormans make up the majority of the population? Obama's numbers have been falling, so if those 2 groups make up the majority that would be correct, yet I don't think Mormons are very high in number.. Or is my logic off today?

That's true. And polls can be so deceiving. It depends on how a question is phrased and what interpretation the one who answers the querstion has.

You have to remember that many of those special groups are minorities, and in some cases very small minorities. Obama for some reason has been popular with minority groups ever since his election. When I say minority groups, I don't just mean racially but religiously as well. For example, maybe 80% of Muslim Americans approve of him, but you have to remember they make up a very tiny fraction of the total population. The same can be said about the Jewish Americans. From my personal experience, atheists and the like tend to more liberal. Not all of them are, but many of them are. Obama is certainly liberal, so it is no surprise that they like him. The Catholics puzzle me though, but they are the only group on this list that does. The Protestants and Mormons don't surprise me. From what I have seen on other surveys, at least 50% of the country are not in favor of Obama.

In terms of minority groups approving of Obama, I don't think it's as much to do with Obama as it is to do with the D beside his name. I've heard a lot of people bring up the fact that America's black vote went for Obama over 90%. I assume some people are implying black people simply voted for a black person. But that's misleading. Black Americans vote that high for Democrats almost every single time out. The same goes with most minority groups. There's something in the American mainstream that gives minority groups the impression that Democrats have their back, whereas Republicans just want to throw them under the bus. I guess it's because the politicians, pundits and activists expel so much energy in paying lip service to special interest with no real plan of ever following through. The oddest thing in all of this undeterred Democrat support is that, through all the decades minority groups have been voting Democrats in and selling off large pieces of their soul, their plight has only worsened economically, yet the other side still gets 100% of the blame.

It is really a all a mess. No is quite sure what is going on with the minorities. Both political parties have issues as well. I don't see it resolving itself any time soon.

Did anyone expect anything else but approval from the Muslim American! He has been kissing Muslim a$$ since day one of his so called presidency. I believe he is closet Muslim. I am definitely NOT one of the 37% approving Protestants.

Those are very doubtful numbers for all the groups.
