Life is too short to be wasted...

One day i realized that i'm not getting any younger, yet still have a lot of things left undone. My mind keeps on enumerating the things i have to do, the things i wanted to do, and the things that i should have already done. "what a wasted time." i finished college at the age of 23 but i should have done it at 19, four years of my life are wasted. i got my first job and the age of 24 and now serving the company for almost 4 years as Supervisor, maybe if i properly use my time i am now a manager or a department head. however, every mistake has a lesson learned. my point of sharing is i want somebody learn from my experience. Our life is limited. we'll never know when it will come to an end. what matter's most we spend it wisely and meaningfully.

Hi mmespino, You are so blessed by GOD, you got a great job, being a supervisor sounds really gratifying! You should be thankful of what you have and there must be no REGRETS or any self pity for the thing you did not do. Life is to short, i agree with that but you do have lack of appreciation of what you have. Try to look at the brighter side of you and I am sure you'll be happy.. Have a great day!

Through reading you post here, let me guess, you must be a progressive guy.You have a clarity scheme about what you will do in next step. However everytime you make a progress, don't forget to reward yourself and don't hurry to make next plan come true. You should have a relaxed.Life has not be wasted during that time, you are feast your life.Yes,life is limited,so we should do the thing which can make me happy in leisure time, work is important, but there are amount of things except work we still need to do.for instance, spending the time with families or friends.

Learn to appreciate life that you have right now. You can never appreciate life when you are still longing for things that are lost forever. Time as you defined as wasted is actually not wasted. You are a supervisor right now even if you failed to finish your school on time. See? Though it is true that one should really spend time working today for the future, we should also consider that, there is no life that is perfect here on earth. whatever we have., we should just appreciate it and be thankful for what we have. we should be happy for what we have and stop crying for things that we do not have. =)

I hate wasting time as well....so whenever I have a free time I always think of whatever useful I can do...there are a lot of things I would like to do in this life and I don't know how will I be able to accomplish those.....but it's good for you that you were able to realize the value of time at your young age....a lot of people never realized that time is so precious, once spent it will never be earned back again....unlike money...you spend it and you will earn it again. Time is gold, life is so precious, we should spend both sensibly and meaningfully as you said.... every minute....every second counts.

Yes it is, i totally agree with you. every second counts. We must spend time to our loved ones and let them feel how we loved them much before it's too late. :)

So you see, instead of finishing college at 19, you were able to finish it at 24. Maybe , you have been so carefree in your life, that you didn't take studying seriously? But whatever it is, past is past and it can never come back. What is good is that you are on the right track now. Keep on excelling in your job and in no time you might become the president of the company.

it would be great. yah, i didn't take my studies seriously, later i realized that i am so behind with my batch mates. as you said, past is past and i should not dwell into it, but i will not let my past be forgotten because i learned a lot from it. :)

well, there are time when we think we should have done this or may be done that, which would have helped us excel in life. But what i believe is that whatever in written in you fate you cannot get more or less than that, no matter what eve ryou do. So we should be thankful to what ever we have and what ever we are. As its human nature that he always want more & more.

In a certain way yes, but what is considered to be wasteful for one person is to be considered to be great success by another person. I'm sure that there are many people out there who have lived an average life, nothing rather remarkable, a lot of times they just did what they could, did what they felt they had to do and they were perfectly content. Other people tend to really disagree with that fact for a number of reasons. Still the thought that life should be lived wisely and you should get the most out of it when you can, yes, I agree with that. Of course, I really think that what is considered to be the most for some people is going to be extremely different for a lot of other people to say the very least. Still that amount of success will come in different varieties to say the very least. It does go without saying that we should get the most out of life while we can.

i agree with your heading. life is too short to be wasted so it is always good to do what we really want to do in life. serve our recognise purpose perhaps or have fun.

While I do agree with maximizing one's time to achieve success, I disagree with you on two points of your story: one, that you should have graduated at the age of 19, because you don't have to be hasty in life, especially during those early 20's of yours. It's better to enjoy life, and this journey will actually help you earn more experience in life, and thus make you happier. Another point is that I don't think you're appreciating what you've already gained. I mean, you've achieved so much! It's not even close to being a "not bad" achievement in life. You're already at the successful point of your career. Keep it up and you'll be happier.

just do the things that you can satisfy you every day that make you happy and peaceful life just be contented of what we have it was sure you will not feel that you are wasting your time your not wasting the time you enjoy your time here as long we are still breathing.

hi:) I think not much of your time is being wasted,I'm sure from that time that you said you'd waste your time I'm sure you learned something important. but I agree with you that our life here on Earth is limited so we better enjoy it and live it to the fullest, I think that's better than hurrying to be successful. though I can say that you're already successful because your only 28 now and there's still so much time, I'm sure you'll be manager soon too after a year or so. goodluck:)

What about your own personal goals? What about love and family? Life isn't wasted if you want to waste it deliberately. You forgot to include those you love around you. Life isn't wasted when you spend your entire life with the people who you cherish. Life is filled with unexpectations, you have no idea what's going to come next and sometimes, it's unfair but that's life. You can't shape future, so let it shape it for you.

If I read this when I was younger, I might tell you that I too wasted my time not achieving my goals. But I am a lot older now and have different perception in life. I am not saying this because I have no goals or no dreams, infact I have, but it is not worth it if you have achieved everything yet you have not enjoyed things during the process. But I can say it is always good to have a plan for every goal but do not set your standards that high. A period of time wasted should not give you disappointments because there will always be bumps along every road to your goals. Instead of wasting your time thinking of what you did not achieved, set your mind to your next steps. I myself is planning to do it, after I sort things out and finally overcome the bumps and shortcomings.

Your feeling about the life is correct. But, it is in our hands to use our life for good purpose in serving to God and others.

It involves being responsible at a very young age. I don't think many people will understand this because life also should be about having a good time. Work is one aspect of it and enjoying it is another. You shouldn't contemplate on this, it disturbs the balance between work and play. I wouldn't consider years wasted when you had fun with it.

As I was reading your post, I don't really agree with you. I'm sorry. Didn't you realize that you are already successful? Life is wasted when you dont learn to appreciate what you are right now. You can never appreciate life when you are still longing for things that are lost forever. Time as you defined as wasted can never be brought back. And so what you have right now is the result of your struggle from the past. I dont know the reason why you failed to finish your school on time.
