Every time I have more money available than usual, I was careless with my spending, I spend money on things that I do not need, and it bothered me, my money has been spent. How can one learn to refrain from it?

I think you need to tell yourself that money saved is money earned and you need to condition your mind about the necessity of any product/service. Before going for purchase - Ask yourself - Can you make do without that product/service or it is very necessary? All the best.

Hi, my friend DPK. Ok, good idea, I have tried to reflect on what I've done with my money for this, and yes, I do not ever intend to spend, but things changed when I was in the store or mall, spontaneously I would buy some that I like, but at home I would realize that what I buy is not worthwhile, even I may never use.

Hi gen! You see it happens with many of us that we get carried away at malls/shopping outlets/big company stores to buy something spontaneously. I feel that one should not feel guilty about it because that does not going to happen. Once one has taken a decision to buy a product, one should enjoy the product because money has already been spent. Many thanks for the best response, you made my day!

Something that had worked for me in the past is not carrying money around. When I have a lot of money on me and I find something I like that costs only a fraction of that money, I feel like I could buy it and still have a lot of money left. So whenever I have any amount of money, I head for the bank or my change jar. But right now I am broke from school which meant I don't have any money to watch.

I agree. I can be like this too. I think we all need to keep ourselves in check. The more money I tend to make, the more money I seem to spend. . I think we just need to rationalize with ourselves...NO, we do not NEED to spend it just because we have it!!!

Hi. Just like you I love to shop. Lol. All those cute shoes, new line of make up but, kidding aside... there's this 50-30-20% ways to handle your money. 50% goes to your needs (like paying rent, bills, food) 30% goes to your savings & investments and 20% goes to your wants. Trust me, it's easier to save this way.

Hi, Well, 50%-30%-20%, A good idea in managing personal finances, so far I never thought to make mathematically management for finances. This raises a bad habit that is irreversible. Nice day

many' money, that you have left, and to simply ignore page (save) set anyway if you buy just nonsense :-(. just think sometimes more than one day a week? a month, oops! if you do it, and if you have the 'pointless purchase' till then not missing, you are 'cured' Think seriously about it, like a little longer!

1st Create yourself a budget for daily living 2nd All routine leave payments debited from your account 3rd Then you build you some room for fun, surprises, etc. a 4th With all the things you want to buy you really think about why, what, need ... 5th For the rest you put immediately from a savings account of an Internet bank. Has the advantage, you should have miscalculated, you can virtually "any time" (within 3 working days) turn. 6th If you really realize that and think, grow back down you see the amounts and can not always incorporate changes. Does it work, can you also set your surplus elsewhere and more profitable.

Get used to you to save part of your regular income such as revenues from 10%, 50% of unexpected. Paying this money at the beginning of the month on an extra account so that you are not device so easily tempted to spend it. - Do a list with three columns Column A - essential. Here come all the "cost drivers" in, which are essential, ie something like food, rent, ... Column B - important but not absolutely necessary (phone bill ,...) Column C-anything You get used to, always first to pay things from column A. Then there is column B and in addition, some money is left over, you can buy things from column C. If you're standing now in the shop and have a desire to buy something, you take a moment to think, would be in which column it. You really need? Does it make you happy long term or will you annoy yourself in a few days, you bought it? (Decreases spontaneous purchases) - Think about what you wish for really. A great vacation? A special gadget? A new car?

Or the traditional method: the good, old piggy bank. Set a weekly limit and throw the rest into pigs. At best a very cute, so true it hurts, cut up to it. And big it should be. So you learn forced halfway measure, you divide the money you have, and do not always spend more. Best wishes and good luck

Just go with little money in your pocket to go shopping then come back. You are not at all tempted in the first. Or you put your monthly salary in four envelopes, one for each week. On the way out make you look like because so much is still in there and how long the week is still. I'm still little, then I go shopping only selectively. Check card but you should leave it at home, because you lose the overview extreme.
