How much lies are you willing to tell just to protect yourself?

I was watching this tv series and this woman character has told so many lies, created a web of it actually just to cover up her own wrong doings, to protect herself and to keep this man that she loves by her side. With this, i am inspired as to the extent of us humans in terms of doing the extremes just to be able to "fight" for our loved ones, to fight for our survival. Any thoughts?

In any case lies is forbidden. It's very hard for one to tell lies if she/he is not used to be the one. When one start lying they will familiar with it and getting used to lie everytime they got chance to do so. To tell the truth becoming something which is awkward to them. So if you ask me how much lies I can tell to protect myself my answer is sorry I can't even bear to tell you one lie. I just can't~

uhmmm...apparently there was a discussion here in mylot saying that lying is about 8.8 percent already. i always try my best not to lie and i dont think i often do it because more likely i avoid situations that will lead me to lying. i cant give a percentage on how much lies i am willing to protect myself because willingness as a question? i guess none. but forced to lie? i guess yes.

chiyosan I would in the first place not get into a situation that i felt I has to lie out of.I will not lie at all as I am not into doing anything I would have to lie about at all. Honesty is always the best policy is my creed and that along with the Golden rule are what I live by.I might if pushed against a wall lie to protect a loved one but it would have to be something horrible to make me do this. I have always been taught to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

There is a dilemma ere. I will have friends, but I will never lie to protect them. I believe that if they also look at me a a friend, they will always remember that I will be understood by them. They will respect who I am, and not demand that I lie for them. Friendship lies behind the foundation of the truth and respect. There is no respect without truth to begin with. If I do lie, this will be a precedent, and the cycle will never stop. Better yet, I will not allow it to happen. At any rate, this is the reason why a careful choice of friends should always be done, and this is what we should always teach our children. We can always choose friends, and that true friends and true company are two different things. A company is just someone with you, but a friend is a friend. They are different.
