How much money did the tooth fairy leave under your pillow per tooth?

Okay my son,lost his first tooth today, so how much money do I put under his pillow! When I was a kid I didn't get nothing so I have no clue. I'm thinking like 1-3 dollars?

Ahaha, me and you were the same, as the tooth fairy did not leave me a cent. 
But the toothfairy left a dollar per tooth each time for my two children. They were 2 years apart and at one point I thought the tooth fairy was going to go broke. lol As one time I had absolutely no change and put a $5 dollar bill and my daughter being older said hey I never received that much does the tooth fairy not like me as much. 
Thankfully she did not remember next time she got a dollar. Yeah!
Oh but how much fun we had with the discoveries of gifts each time. It was always fun to see the kids so happy to place that tooth under the pillow.

I got when I was little 3 dollars per tooth, but if I lost 2 teeth at a time I got 6 or 7 dollars, I know but that's a lot of money.
