it's so annoying how my cellphone is wasting my money without me knowing. i just recently saw my mobile bills and it showed there that every 1 am my phone is using the internet, but actually i never used the internet. this has been happening for about 6 months already but i didnt have the chance to check my bills because the address they were sent was at the countryside. crap!

I too experienced the same as you are... my cell phone balance used to reduce without i using it... this irritated me alot... so i marched to the network providers office and discontinued all the service that were active on my number... that solved the problem... :-)

It means that you have the facility of internet connection in your cell phone? What is your mode of payment? Is it post paid? I would suggest you to opt for prepaid payment.

Whoah. I am now wondering how that could happen. If I were in your shoes, I would also be furious! I can't believe that things like that could happen. Worst is the fact that it happen in consecutive months, therefore the service provider would not believe that you haven't been using your internet through mobile. I have the same sentiments for my mobile as well. It seems that apps that are supposed to be working through wifi is being charged by my service provider. Worst, I can't prove to them otherwise. But I have decided to take things into my own hands. Which is why when I use the app, I decide to use it in airplane mode and then switch on the wifi connection. I know it's taxing but at least I'm sure that they're not charging me for something I am not using. Perhaps you should just try to cancel the mobile internet capability. Have a great MyLot experience today!

yeah, it totally made me furious but i am glad that it didnt reach a year. the best thing that i could do was to phone the service provider and cut the internet off.

hi hushi! wow! that must have been a big bill that you paid the past six months! hopefully, you've had a chance to dispute this with your provider. i've experienced something similar as well. i use a prepaid card to load credits in my cell phone and normally, i would enroll in my providers' unlimited text promotion. much to my surprise when i check my balance, i'd see that my cell phone load will be debited while i'm still enrolled in the promotion. this has happened twice and good thing is that in both times, when i called the attention of my service provider, i was credited back my load. now, i'm wary of availing the unlimited text promo because i might lose load credits again.

That is indeed a tough situation you have there. If you will call your service provider, they might actually blame you still and inform you that those charges are valid. What I can advise is to try to talk to one of the supervisors. Try to inform them as calmly as possible what happened. They will be able to check the constant charge on your bill for internet usage at the same exact time. I know that this is really frustrating but I hope they will be able to help you with it.

I have cancelled a number without paying the bill due to same reason. I access internet from my mobile and had a plan from provider to pay 299INR only for whole month access. Suddenly they changed my plan to 98INR having only 2GB access without informing me and i used internet thinking it 299 plan, but when the bill i received it was 6000INR which is impossible. Hence i threw away that number.

The phone can still use data without you having to actually open a browser. The phone often has to download things from the server etc, in order for you to have the smoothest use possible from it. If you don't have a data plan chances are you would not be aware of this. That's why many provieders offer data options to prevent overages like this. If it's really that much of a concern, take it up with your local mobile carrier to see what you can do to stop the auto-charge.
