I sold my first item on Ebay today. I was so excited that I finally got an item sold. It is hard to try and sell items on Ebay or on any auction site. I don't know if anyone actually makes a living on sell items on Ebay, if they do all power to them. It has so many competition. I am lucky I got an item sold I thik. I will keep trying to sell more things though. Do you use Ebay or any other auction site?

aisha: You have not told which item was sold by you and why you found it difficult to sell. Also why u are so happy in having pushed that. Was that one not good? I have not sold any items through ebay or other auctions. first of all i do not have many things to be sold. Whenever we do not want a particular thing we pass it on to servant maid or watchman like that,

ravisivan: It doesn't matter what item I sold as long as I sold it but if you must know it was a controller for the Wii game system. And if you read correctly it is hard to sell on ebay and othr auction sites because of all of the competition, there is a lot! I am just happy because I actually got an item sold seeing how it is so difficult to sell an item. If you ever try to sel anything on an auction site then you will understand.

I agree with you.it is difficult to sell things and that too on sale because there is competition and also people do not meet.

Did you have to pay a fee for your item to be sold?

I guess if you have the right stuff it's worth it. I'm getting back into selling on eBay and I've made a bit with clothes and electronics/electronics accessories, but I can't say I'm making a fortune. I've used Craigslist a few times but I prefer the anonymity/safety of using eBay much better- it's less dangerous and less confrontational! lol. Congrats on selling your first item. It is hard, and sometimes the payout seems way less than the effort you put into it (but sometimes not, too!). Good luck with your earning - it can be a slippery slope!

Congrats for your sale.Yeah, I know it's really hard to sell items on auction site especially if you are a newbie but at least you have succeeded to sold one.I haven't tried Ebay, but I knew others have found that site to their advantage.I hope you did the same.

It is worthy of being excited after selling an item at ebay. But you have not mentioned what you sold at ebay. What are the terms and conditions for selling items at ebay and also how to sell items there?

Congratulations! I'm actually planning to sell items in ebay but don't know how to start. I'm also concerned with time since I'm at the office 9 hours a day, I think it will be hard for me to monitor my products. I have so many cute clothes that doesn't fit anymore and hoping to sell them since they were slightly used. I'm also planning to sell some old coins from different countries. Extra money is always good and selling online seems fun.

No I don't do Ebay or any other auction site. I have no idea of how people can earn by this process. Were you able to sell a second hand item? So this would involve a lot of trust, for how can they be assured that the item will be delivered if they make a payment already? And what if what I have received is not what I really ordered, will I get a refund? I think it is very risky on the part of the buyer ,isn't it?

I have bought some clothes for cheap on eBay before. I really hate finding something I really love and having to wait on the auction to end! I am impatient and then sometimes someone outbids me at the last second. That drives me crazy! I have neve sold anything on eBay but I do have an account. I was going to sell some things but was afraid they would sell too cheap and I would end up regretting it. My husband use to sell stuff on eBay and he made a little money.

Congratulations! And yeah, Ebay is really competitive. I use Ebay lot, I'm kinda obsessed with it. I love browsing through all the cheap branded items which would cost hundreds in an actual store. I've never sold anything on it yet but I hope to one day. There's always constant activity on Ebay. I don't think you can make a living out of it though but it is something to get rid of your old unwanted stuff and get a bit of cash from it.

Gratz on your first sale. And I'm sure you will sell more. Just be careful of bogus buyers-the ones that promise you that they will buy it at this price and that convince you to put it on hold for them. I used to sell stuff in Ebay to add to my allowance for schooling. But it is a hassle when someone tries to message you about a certain item more than 10 times, pretending as if they will buy it but in the end won't. Haggling is ok. But I think it's absurd when they ask you for a last price when you've specifically placed in the add that the price is fixed and haggling won't be entertained.

Congratulations for selling an item at ebay. Yes you are right. It is indeed difficult to sell items there. You need to work hard. It seems you have done exactly that to generate a sale. Well done again.

I have sold something online before although not on ebay. It is surprisingly more difficult than I thought it will be. I always see people selling stuff online and I thought as soon as I list the item it would be snapped up immediately. However, that was not the case. It took a long time and I even had to lower the price at a point. Congratulations!! Wishing you success in your business venture.

I did try once to sell a funky lighter on ebay, but I think it was just waste of time, because I got no response ever since. I don't know if anyone would interest in buying it. I don't know what else is good sale on ebay. Does anyone interest in buy clothes in wholesale on ebay?

My congratulations to you. I have had some success selling on craigslist and considered ebay but ebay seems like too much work for me. I do know other people who have sold on ebay. Some have claimed to be very successful doing so. For some, it is a job and a business. And they make a living doing this. I know other persons who have sold on ebay but have stopped. It was not worth their time. Ebay requires a lot of time and energy. I have bought on ebay with mixed results. Sometimes, I was delighted with what I received and other times, extremely disappointed. In some instances, I complained but was never satisfied with the results. So sellers also have to deal with dissatisfied customers.

Ebay is a great site to buy cheap finds. Yeah I buy from Ebay. I attempted to sell something but had difficulty getting a serious buyer. There are actually people who are really earning from selling through those sites, however, it took them years to get the reputation they already have. Unless you are selling really low-cost items, I guess it will take some time for you to get a lot of buyers to take you seriously.
