When I was a little girl my grandma had a wild cherry tree in her front yard.
I used to help my uncle pick the cherries. He would lower the branch so I could have the fun of picking them.
She used to make them into cherry pies. While they were very tart once made with the sugar and cinnamon they were between tart and sweet which made for a really good pie.
Sometimes I can find them in the store in cans but not often.
But the ones in produce section are Bing Cherries. Are they different than Black Cherries or are they one of the same?
They had the bing cherries on sale so I grabbed a bag. THey are addicting!
There is also a cherry that is yellow in color? I have never eaten one and wondered if they were sweet or on the tart side. Are they for pies or just eating like we do the sweet bing cherries?
Thanks Mylotters.

Honestly they almost look like miniature peaches in color. I have never tried them guess I may have to buck up and try some.
Thanks at least for responding.
