Problem signing in to Comcast email

United States

I went to logon to my email this morning, and it's telling me that my username and password don't match. I know for a fact I have not changed it, and the computer saves login information, so I don't even have to type anything in, just press enter. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but the transformers in my town were hit by lightning yesterday so the power all over town was out all day and night. Or, is it possible my account has been compromised and someone hacked it?

I have Comcast and signing in to email has been slow lately but I have not had your problem. The power outage could have compromised your computer's storage of the information but I assume you have tried typing it in. By the way storing usernames and passwords on your computer is a very risky thing to do. I never do that even for the most trivial of sites. Even with the best virus and spyware protection such information can be stolen and/or comprised. As someone else said you should call them, sooner than later, about it.

I would suggest you contact Comcast via telephone if you are still having the same issue. Reason why I say contact them is that I have not had any issues today logging into mine. I hope you can resolved this soon and welcome aboard to myLot!

It is possible the problem could be at either end -your computer or their servers. If you use an email program - first go in and retype the username and password in your profile settings - if it still doesn't work, call comcast and ask them to reset your password and give them the password you want it to be. If you use webmail, just call comcast and ask them to reset your password and give them the password you want it to be. If your account has been compromised and hacked you would know it - you would start getting notifications that it has been reported that you have been sending "spam" emails and you would suddenly see a lot of "new contacts" and "sent emails". That storm could easily have caused the problem you describe and this is actually a fairly common occurance. This problem is much less severe than many of the problems that storms can cause with computers, servers, modems, and routers.

hi neired if you are on cable internet and the power was off you will not get back on the net until you reset the modem and the router if you use a router. it is easy to reset. pull out the smallest line on the modem, wait one minute plug back in.now wait one minute then unplug the thinnest wire on the router wait one minute and plug back in. oh yes leave your computer off while you do this. now restart computer you should be on your email and on the net.
