Mylot star and number

Something create my curiosity today. I'm just a new member in mylot and made only a few comment/respond but suddenly without warning my name had yellow star with "8" on it. What happen, did I made something wrong? If this star is appreciation from Mylot, why suddenly "8" not 1 or 2 since I just new member? What they standard? I'm so curios about this ......

Thank for your response, But I just wonder that star we have gonna effect our revenue / post or not. If yes, I gonna increase it for sure ...... hehehehehe

The star depicts your mylot rate according to the mylot rating system. It is also mentioned in the faq section and your rating is displayed along with your name in discussions once you have reached the 100 posts milestone (Although the next milestone of 500 will give you permission to paste text in your posts). So congratulations for such a nice rating. Keeping working hard in the mylot community and you will also see the increase in rating. Have a nice day!

Well ... thanks. I only see FAQ's on "forbidden" section only so I little bit surprise when I get big number on my star.
