I have several big Cs in my life. One that has really made me appreciate life is when i was diagnosed to have cancer, stage 2A. I was very young then. My life was still budding and was starting to bloom. At first, i view it as something very light because every time I was asked how am i coping with it. I would simply say, it's just the third letter of the alphabet with a smile. They thought I was just really okay. But deep inside, I was mourning. The time of recuperation from the long treatment process, was also the time for me to recall how i have lived my life each day . i thanked the people who cared for me and those who have hurt me. I prayed a lot asking the Lord to give me the grace to accept things the way they are. Perhaps it worked because, my recuperating process was very fast.I realized that, there lots of 'big Cs in in my life aside from the "c' i mentioned . Another is to Care,to people around me,C- cherish the happy and sad memories i have of them because they have made me what i am now, compassion- for those who have less in life. Not just the material wealth but the immaterial ones like , family, love ones, health. These are the wealth that cannot be bought but they are as priceless as diamond. I also have the 'c' for companion'. During the treatment, i met several people undergoing the same treatment as mine and we became friends and good companions to one another. We built our support group so that we can handle our condition in alight manner. It worked.:-) Thus until now i'm still here. It was 8 years ago. I don't know until when can I have this borrowed life but I think I am now ready. SO the Big 'Cs' in my life gave me positive outlook in life and change me the way i see and handle situations especially those that I cannot control.:-)

Wow janevi! You are a very strong person indeed! Coping up with something that is plaguing you from inside, being able to smile through the pain and finding the silver lining of the immense dark cloud that loomed over you - it's definitely the sign of a steady and optimistic individual. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful thought. You are right! Until we learn to look at and appreciate at the brighter side, we'd always be lost in the black mist of darkness... :) We certainly need to appreciate the little but important things in life. They are not to be missed as they bring a beautiful lesson with each of them. :) God bless you! Have a good day!!

yes we need to vkatrix. when we practice gratefulness everyday even the small ones, we become more appreciative of whatever we have no matter how simple they maybe. If we notice the small ones, we will surely know the big ones and we can share them to people around us.:-)

Thank you for sharing the big C's in your life. This is a very good example that something that we consider bad can really turn us to be a better person. I have nothing else to say as i have not experienced anything like this in my life but this is very enlightening and very nice to share! You are an admirable person.

Thank you toniganzon.:-) Really, the best teacher is our experiences in life. They can either make or break us but most of the time, they can make us a better person. As we mature, we tend to see life in a positive way and thus enabling us to act accordingly.:-)
