What is I.P. add. in DNS

I wanna know that what to put in I.P. address in the DNS setting... I m making site and I have registered domain name....I have done with cname setting bt they are asking for "A" in which I.P. address is needed. I dnt knw whats this... My blog is on blogger and I registered domain from hostindia.net.I want to change the domain from blogspot to my own domain...So plz tell me how to set this... Thanx..

The people at hostindia will be able to tell you where to point the IP address - I assume they'll have a resolver on a fixed IP that figures out where, within their structure, each request should go.

hello friend...DNS stands for domain name system.....and Ip address is referred to internet protocol address...it is a distributed naming system for computers, services, or any resource connected to the Internet ...each DNS server has a particular Ip address to give them a unique identity..

Internet Protocol (IP). For computers it is the same as your home address. This stuff confuses me sometimes but here is a great sight you should look at. When you go to this page your ip shows up on the front page. It also has all kinds of stuff about understanding ip addresses and domains and stuff like that.
