Do you have a special place to go and think?

I am very fortunate to live by the sea on the south coast. (Well, at least in the Summer!) The town itself is a little bit run down now because of the economic climate in the UK, but the area is gorgeous and well worth exploring, even as a local. I love to go down and walk along the seafront and then go onto our long pier, from where you can see France on a clear day, and watch the ships to-ing and fro-ing across The Channel. This is my special place to blow away the cobwebs and mull over any problems. After this bracing therapy with the wind tickling my face, life doesn't seem so bad! Where is your special place? I'm looking forward to all the fascinating answers!

i really love to stay in front of the sea, it gives me peace of mind and the relaxation i want to feel, by looking at the waves itself i feel so unwind and free...from all the stressed i earned in my everyday life, all the problems, all the depression, everything i feel bad in my life will surely paste out when i was in front of the sea...the waves that keeps on whispering in my ears that made me feel better.

Special Place - The Sea
You are blessed to live along that beautiful nature. I myself loves the sea and finds this a special place indeed. This is where I could fully enjoy fresh air amidst serenity. This is where I could feel and see the beauty of God's creations. There is no other place as relaxing as the view of the sea. So if given free time, expect me to be at the sea!

I live in the country and have a creek close to my house. There is an area that has flattened ledges of rock that look like they have been sculpted. I like to take my walks in this area and sit on the rocks under a shade tree. The light breeze and the soothing sound of the water flowing is tranquil. I feel as though I could sometimes sit there for days.

I'm just picturing that in my mind. It sounds like the sort of place I would like to sit and paint in. You are very lucky to have such a special spot! Enjoy!

My thinking place does not sound as wonderful as yours. I live in the city and I do have a nice park across the street from me. For which I have been known numerously to get up and go walk around and or sit on the grass their and stare up into the sky from time to time. Outside of this I would have to drive to other places and by then I probably did all the thinking in the car behind traffic here. lol

At least you do have a park nearby where you can connect with Nature. I agree that traffic-jams are a good place to think!

How lucky to have a place like that. You have a variety of relaxing place. Well, my room is my best place for me. I can relax and think things in anyway I want. I sometimes cry and sometimes I just smile. This is not crazy, just thinking things like problems and good days. Hope I could change my room set up for new look and new environment maybe.

It's always good to change our rooms so they reflect who we really are. If we need peace then we must create a tranquil environment where we feel relaxed and unstressed. I hope you will be able to do this for yourself soon.

I agree! It is lovely to lose yourself in a good book. Problems of all sorts just drift away as you immerse yourself in words.

I don't have a special place, but i tend to go outside or off to see the animals. I can always find something to do to occupy myself with the animals so I've an excuse not to be in the house, and at the moment whilst the weather is so hot I can hide up by the tomatoes for hours providing I take the hose pipe with me. I find that my family are less likely to bother me if they think I'm working, just in case I rope them in!

Tending to our animal friends can be very relaxing too. You're very wise to go and hide from the family when you need peace and quiet or somewhere to think. I don't have a family but I used to be a teacher, so I can remember all the awkward questions and irritating problems that turn up!

I like to live near the sea. But sad to say, I live in a city and that is far away from the beaches and the sand. I haven't been at the beach a long time now and I would like to make a plan to go there and think of happy memories. Being away in the city means being away from stress. But due to limited time and budget I have to wait for the perfect time to go and enjoy life in there.

Try and save up, and then go and have a fantastic time at the beach. I'm sure you deserve it!

Yes there is an apple tree in my backyard or at least there used to be until a few months ago, before it got knocked down by wind. Still it was one of my favorite places to go outside and think when it was still around. Before it got taken down by a violent act of Mother Nature it offered a great amount of shade and coverage from the outside world. It is just something that allowed me to be alone outside, with my thoughts, to rather recollect them to say the very least. Sometimes we have moments like that where we need to think. Of course I do think that if I can just really get away from everyone, I can really collect my thoughts. If I go to some secluded room for a few minutes its fine. The bathroom tends to be a favorite room and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who is really going to collect my thoughts in the bathroom. Still any place, where I can really just get away for a matter of minutes and just really be left alone with my thoughts, that's most certainly a good thing. As long as I can be left alone with my thoughts.

We all need somewhere to collect our thoughts. Life is so frenetic now and the days just fly by. It is a shame your 'thinking-tree' was brought down by the wind. I love being near trees. Did you know they have a sort of 'heartbeat'? The sap circulates with a rhythmic pulse. Isn't that wonderful! The First Nations in America called them 'Our standing brothers'.

Lucky you, my friend for having a place like that , near where you live. The sea could be a tranquil place to be . With the sea breeze and the vast sea, it surely could help you relax and think. Me, i have our bedroom as my sanctuary. After dismissal, i would go straight home and offer my thanks and prayer to God. After that, if i have a problem i would mull over it and think of better ways to do it. Then, i would watch TV to relax. This i can do, while hubby is still at work. He comes home later .By dinnertime, my mother-in-law would be calling me for dinner and i am finished with what i am thinking of.

We all need a sanctuary. It doesn't really matter where it is as long as it gives us what we need, peace.

Yes, it is lovely to go into the countryside, in the peace and quiet, and have a chat with The Universe! Problems that seem like impossible mountains to scale soon become gentle slopes we can easily climb!

I want to go to my hometown.I'm looking forward to our new house (bamboo) to be made that is located on the top of the mountain where I could see many overlooking sights like the beach near to us, the island in the east, the islet in the middle of the sea and the trees and birds around making great sounds in my ear. There would be many tropical fruits around it where I could just easily get whenever I want. The air is extremely fresh. The sun shines brightly in summer and the cold breeze in every night touches my soul that could really make me to have a cup of tea or coffee while waiting for the moon to shine. Though I hate to have tan skin, I would still love to live near to the sea because I can enjoy watching the ships passing by and the waves that tease me to come and play with. Hope this will really come true! Do you have a hometown? Where is it located? What does it look like?
