Wishing Happy birthday

Do you think celebrating date of birth is good.As we know we will die one day. When every second goes it means we are near to death. According to me wishing happy birthday is not good one. As we celebrating for the deaths to come. In this time we must be close to our God by praying him and asking for forgiveness. It is not mentioned in any religious books and it a man made thing. What do you say about it.

Birthdays I believe are more like tradition than a religious thing. It's a way of saying, hey I'm still alive. The celebration is more like giving thanks to those people who is always with you through thick and thin.

I agree with you goggles that birthday is not a religious thing but rather a tradition. In our family, as well as to most people here in the Philippines, we celebrate birthdays even not in a grand manner. But we see to it that we partake of a food that is something long like a stir fried noodles (pancit) , to connote wish for longer life. We celebrate it to give thanks to God, that He has given us another year and we also request at the same time to give us more years to come in our life.

I see my birthday as a celebration of the fact that I've managed to live for another year,and I think we must enjoy this precious gift called life as much as we can,we must be glad that we're alive and set new goals in our minds on our birthdays.We mustn't feel sorry that our deaths are closer and closer,if we thought that way we would spend every day in sorrow instead of enjoying living.

We should celebrate our birthday party,as you can see that the day you born is such a meaningful day not only for you but also your parents.So,just cheers and enjoy your moment,happy birthday!I celebrate my birthday party every year and i really cherish the day of each year.

I think it is good cause we all know we are going to die so to accept it you won't be in pain when you do. also It is much fun as well you get new stuff,you know presents, you get to cut the cake and stuff.

In my husband's tradition, he never celebrats his birthday. he says the day when he came to the earth, the day his mother was suffering pains. So on his birthday, he eating nothing to memerises his mother.

Yeah you are right in one way. But think it on other way too.Like,its the day to enjoy. because you came in this world on that day. So its like the day to enjoy and have fun with full joy and happiness. Just because of this day, your family had some special unforgettable moments in their life. Hope you get my point !
