Is it worse to lose any loved one, or never had to have a complete family?

I have since my eighth Year of age almost lost a beloved member of my extended family once they are all dead, now I only have my parents.
A friend of mine lives in a small family - she has only her mother, grandmother and sister. She never had a real big family.
What is worse?

I think it is worse never to have had a complete family.
It's terrible when someone close needs to go from the large family forever. But the wonderful memories of this one person that could have been, it may not be the person experienced with anyone else has had! Had they not had these memories and experiences - we'd be better? Had we the same people? No, because we would be missing a part. When a person goes from us, we realize how much he has given us but the memories and experiences can take us no one we carry in our hearts and we have not had it, we were not the ones we have today.

What was not, can not you mourn. However, we were able to enjoy many relatives, at least for a while.
For I am in the same situation as you. And I personally am happy to remember my deceased family members.
People who never had a large family have no such memories!
So I think the situation worse than your girlfriend yours!
