Today when I was reading news I found this very interesting news regarding British women's in which was mention that, British women loves and care their pets more than their husband. As per one survey which was held in Britain in which more than 2000 women's were involved who have pets in their home and especially Dogs. As per this survey they talk with their pets more politely than their husbands, they often take time out from jobs for their pets but they don't have time for their husbands, they love to go out with their pets instead of their husbands. What you think about that? Is it a normal behavior? what are the reason behind this psephology? Are we loosing our humanity?

I think that the thing is, you take on a pet, and they rely on you for everything. you can't explain to them if you can't provide their needs that day. your husband can make his own dinner, your dog can't. so I don't think it's about who you love more. it's who relies on you more. a husband can look after himself, your dog can't. they NEED you to give them food and water and exercise. a husband can fetch and prepare those things for himself.

LOl that sound funny,I never heard a news like that here in the Philippines coz it's woman responsibility to take care of her husband and children needs, if ever they having some pets at the house it's only a hobby not their priority.

yeah, that is funny. it's like people think men are less intelligent than women, or less capable of performing simple tasks, so they need a stronger, more intelligent woman to take care of them. of course they can look after themselves. animals aren't a hobby, they're a living thing that relies on you for everything. it's a bit like saying a baby is a hobby. they're just as much in need of our care.

It is true I even wash my cloths when I have need. But my question was that, "Can a pet replace a husband position?

Oh what's the problem. If you see the other way pets are always there by your side and they don't argue with you no matter how you treat them..I wonder how many husbands would be that way!LOL Also pets would do as you would train them to do, they will wear what you want them to wear, they will eat what you give them to eat, they don't complain! Also, your pet never cheats on you..hehe I guess if there husbands were like these pets then they would certainly spend more time on their husbands instead of pets!

I think training an animal to do what we want is animal cruelty. They deserve to be free to do what they want, not to be a human slave. Oh btw if your pet never cheat on you and then they have babies, who do you think make them pregnant in the first place? you?

Hello, I think it is the same her in the United States too. My daughters love there pets more than me. If I neglect either the dog or the cat I hear about how I not doing my job. They never once ask me how I am feeling or am I do ok... they never ask you should go see the doctor for this or that. But if the dog or cat has scratch or starts itching we have to take the Vet right away etc... Yes, I think females get more satifiactionout taking of dog or cat vs a husband because they do not talk back and just sit there wagging there tails. Thanks unique16

why should you punish someone for caring about animals? it doesn't have to be one or the other. if someone is kind to animals, then they are usually kind to people too. you can judge a persons humanity by how they treat animals.

Don't you think when you were raising them you showed some toughness to them and I go further and say you must punish them to teach them the lesson how to respect humans instead of animals? Did you teach them love with humanity?

I'm from the Philippines and i find it odd. Don't have any idea why they treat their pets better than their husbands but maybe the husbands treat their pets too better than they do their wives!

So you think a pet can be seen as replacement of your life partner (Husband) which can provide you satisfaction in every feelings emotionally and physically?

I think it is funny, and kind of awkward but it can not be the case with everyone. I think the pets are cute but it does not mean that husbands are not cute. It may make them jealous of pets. I read some new kind of news from Britain everyday. They keep on researching new things about everyday life of people.

Well When they were finding that hubby and thought they fall in love with him than what went wrong to ignore him or tease him the way it is mentioned in this news? any logic?

islooboy: Interesting topic. But very bold one. Talking of pets -- people who keep pets they treat them as their own family members. Once I called a pet as dog. The owner lady scolded me - "How can you call him a dog? he is like our son. He knows when appa (her husband) is coming.....". this makes me agree with whatever you have said. best wishes

well, isloooboy, as a british woman what can i say. i got divorced from my husband, and replaced him with a dog! though the link, in reality, is not quite that direct. there are a lot of silly surveys out there, so i wouldn't take it too seriously. though i am sure there are a few who do and a few who don't. but it depends on the questions asked, it would be quite easy to create a survey that appeared to give an answer like that. you could, for example, ask how often you argue with your husband about doing the washing up, and how often you argue with your pet about it, and of course the answer would give the impression the pet had an easier life. and a lot of researchers use an eye catching headline like this, to draw attention to their research.

Thanks God, I got someone who is from UK and answered with real facts. I was also thinking on the same path because information and disinformation is part of the media and most of the times they are spreading disinformation. As per my knowledge UK who spread knowledge and cultural heritage which is very rich and unique, how they can convert into some stupid things so easily?
