We believe that kids don't lie...but some lie to be very ill...

My four-yer old kindergarten has a classmate who lied about her little fever to her mommy. Her mommy said that she was absent the other day because she had a slight fever and told her she did not want to get up for school because she has a headache and these and that. So the innocent mommy conceded. Then later she found her playing around with the neighbors. Haha. Very naughty little girl. Maybe she jut really wanted to play.

I feel that she was probably innocent.
. However, as she grows older she must be told the difference between truth and lie and should also be told the implications of speaking lies.

I was also thinking that she might not have thought about lying which was impossible for a child. Perhaps all that she had in her mind was that she really just wanted to play having felt a little bad with the slight fever and thought that play would be best to enjoy the day. Just like a sick person who is trying to think positive to feel better. Don't you think?

Probably, or she wasn't feeling well and then got better. Kids don't always speak truth. But, as adults, we don't like to call them liars because they don't totally understand the gravity of what they are doing. I've heard it said that if you want to know the truth, ask a kid. But, I find that you can't always believe the little rascals. That's where mommy intuition comes in handy.

Yes that is true. That was why I think they are just being naughty. My little girl would pretend to be sleeping in the car so that her daddy would carry her inside the house. But she can't hide it because the eyes might be closed but the lips are slightly smiling. Haha.
