Do you read cat mysteries?

I read a number of different mystery series where one of more characters are cats. Some of these series are the Cat Who Mysteries by Braun, the Midnight Louie Series by Carole Nelson Douglas, and the Mrs. Murphy Series by Rita Mae Brown (which also includes a dog). Have you read any of these? What did you think of them? If you have read books from more than one of these series or a different cat mystery series, which did you like best and why? I'm always looking for new mystery series with cat characters who help solve the mysteries.

I am afraid I never heard of these books and the only book, which was also a movie, I heard of was the late 60's early 70's, "That Darn Cat" I loved watching the Disney movie because Siamese cats are my favorite..

The Cat Who mysteries feature two lovely Siamese cats, Koko and YumYum. Many people absolutely love these books. My mom did. I think the characters could have more depth, but they are OK for light reading. The first ones in the series are better, in my opinion, than the last ones.

I have read all the Cat Who books, a few of the Midnight Louie books and tried a Mrs. Murphy's once (as an aside, I met Carole Nelson Douglas at an SF con once) Have you read the Joe Grey mysteries? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Joe_Grey_Mysteries I read one, bought more, but I just don't have much time to read any more. Here's another source http://www.cozy-mystery.com/blog/kittens-cats-and-cozies-cat-mysteries.html

Wow! Thanks for the great links. I haven't read the Joe Grey mysteries. How to they compare to the ones I mentioned? The blog with the list was a wonderful help. I am saving the link. So far the Midnight Louie mysteries are my favorite cat mysteries. I have read all of them except the latest, which I can't afford and the library doesn't have yet. I want to get my hands on it very badly, since it really is at a point where I want to find out what happens next.

I'm going to guess that the Joe Grey's have a bit in common with the Midnight Louie mysteries, because they are from the cat's POV, tho he's not doing it so much in the Noir style that Louie does...

I used to read them when I was littler. I loved them and my mom liked me reading them because they weren't gruesome or anything. I had some many cat who books that my shelves looked like a rainbow (i had them according to color). I picked up one the other day just for a bit of nestalgia. (sp) always a good read. wonder why my cat couldnt be smart enough to read shakespeare like Koko

Don't feel bad. None of my cats have been able to read Shakespeare either, even those who were at least part Siamese.

Let your loved ones know. Is you birthday coming up? Do you celebrate Christmas? Hanukkah? Between Amazon.com and book stores it should be easy to get!

I'll bet it was. I wish someone would give me a complete set of Douglas's Midnight Louie books.

I love mysteries, and I love cats, but I don't read cat mysteries. Perhaps I should!
