Well planned or loosely planned

When you go on vacation , do you like to plan every activities for everyday? Or do you like to get there and do what you feel like each day? Me? My best trip to date was a little of both. I planned one trip each day but the rest of the day was free. How about you?

That trip of yours sounds fun. :) Traditionally in my family things vacations are planned down to the last pin head sized detail. To what we will see to where we will stay. Even where we eat. While I do like knowing what comes next I find the approach boring after while. Vacation is about relaxing and exploring! If I want to follow a schedule I'll stay home and work. My nature leans towards a "pack the car and see where we go" approach.

It was a once in a lifetime trip. I had two things I just Had to see, everything else was loose. I didn't even think about Where to eat but it turned out great.

That is the most fulfilling kind of trip. There is nothing like having the time or freedom to go and see what you feel like seeing! :)

hi sarah, the things that should be part of the planning are the expenses: transportation, place to stay and the place itself. but as to the activities, i prefer it unplanned so as not to be hurrying up. i just make sure that there is a guide, and that is it. ann

I don't like planning the rest of the vacation. Maybe some of it but not all since it's supposed to be fun. The thing is, if I plan on things, I'll see them differently and it'll lose the surprise it might bring to the whole thing.

Maybe that's it! I don't like surprises, even good ones!

If you don't like suprises then you should stick with the planning.

Well, doing things properly planned is wise and interesting. However, some people love surprise. whereas, it is notable that a vacation/trip itself is a surprise from beginning to end.

If it were just up to me, my vacation would involve travelling somewhere, and then planning absolutely nothing when I get there. It also means doing absolutely nothing there! But with kids, it has to involve planning. And what sort of activities they would have.

Where would you like to go?

Ok. You may not be able to string 7 nights together but... if the kids have best friends they can go for sleepovers! That way you could have the house to yourself!

Actually, I would rather have everyone go. And then I'd stay at home. I will order in, and not stay out of bed! I'd call my vacation, 'slob for a week'!

Hi sweetie. I just go with the flow. I am the kind who would rather do what i feel like, rather than doing something that was planned.

I am a planner. The best day of this summer I planned to shop and the places I wanted to go were planned but the time frame wasn't set in stone. I took my time and it was great!

Whe I was in my teens I would plan next weekend as this weekend was still going on!Now I take my time. I usually get an idea around Monday, And then fine tune it by Thursday!

I don't plan.I guess because i don't find it fun when you plan. It's better to just go with the flow because it's more exciting. There's like an adventure there. So when i go on vacation,i don't plan.I just go with what i want to do for the day.

I am a guy who does a lot of travelling. Every year there would 2-3 trips around India where I will go with either family or friends. So I lot a lot of planning for these trips. Early on in teens, I used to be very particular about every activity and ended up being highly tensed up and usually came back from trips disappointed while others seemed to enjoy it a lot. I realized the fun was not in all the activities but in how you do the activities. So now, I have cut back on my planning. I usually have a rough plan accounting for 60% of the activities and the rest I simply go with the flow. With this approach, I have started to enjoy the trips that much more and it is overall much less stress and fun. Cheers! Ram

as a teen I Needed to know Exactly what was to happen and if I didn't I would worry about Everything I mean I would get a stomach ache from the stress. and if I couldn't know what was to happen I would either worry up to the moment or get frustrated and then shut down and not care . So for the first few moments of the trip I was more anxious than excited. But as soon as I could say no, I'm not going I eased up. Then I could plane what I wanted to go and now like you , I plan about 60-75% of the trip and play the rest by ear!

I am an independent traveler and I usually go on a flight to a gateway airport. Next I travel around that region staying in around 3 to 10 different places. That way I can see cities, beaches, historical sites, countryside and wildlife. Before my trip I read a travel guide book to get ideas about the cost of accommodation and the transport in that country like trains, buses and ferries. I have an idea before I go of places that would interest me. For every trip there is a main focus like Cape Town the year before last and Vancouver last year. On my trip this year our baggage was delayed and my disabled son plus my daughter got sick. Due to this we had to stay eight days due to this in our first place rather than 4 days. My best trip was five years ago and on it I went to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. I loved climbing the Mayan ruins, snorkeling the around the reef and staying for a few nights in a tree house. I tend to be busy sightseeing in the day and go back to where I am staying in the early evening for safety.

I like to fly by the seat of my pants...do whatever seems to be of interest on a certain day...not following a schedule. Some of my best trips are those that we just go with the flow.

Yet some planning in advance can add to the pleasure of doing although the plan in the context needn't be too tight.

It's usually pretty loosey goosey. I have some idea where I want to go and what I want to see, but most of it is usually not planned out in advance.

I wish I had that problem! I've never had a real vacation! I just don't have the money to go on one! I have tried to save up the money! Something always happens andmy vacation money ends up going for something else! It sucks! I'll have to win the lottery to go on a real vacation in the future!

This trip was special, It was back in 1997, when I had more money! My mom was alive and we both saved and went to New Orleans. It was the best trip I have been on Ever! These days I don't have a vacation. One I don't have the money and two I don't have the desire to travel.

I like to know about the country where I go, t know what to expect. But from the time I reach the country, I dn´t plan much. There are certain musts, such as getting maps, discovering what to see nearby and where to buy food. I also check what the hotel (I usually stay at aparthotels) offer me so that I can take advantage of that. Each morning I plan a bit and a lot more if I decide to take a tour (as I did at Cancun when I visited ChichenItzá. I love to travel and I love to get the most of my vacations! Have a nice day!

Many times, when you arrive, you discover that something special is happening that you did not know beforehand, but you want to see. I am aware that there are many things that can make plans change.

I'd like a bit of both too unless it's a very short vacation and I can't see or do much unless I plan every moment. Personally for me ...a vacation is also a time to relax. But it doesn't always happen that way because I travel with the family and need to consider everyone's needs too.

Nstead of taking long vacations, we take mini ones when we can afford it. We're taking one next week for our fourth anniversary. We plan a bit, but we make sure to have lots of free time tofair in the hot tub.I

We've got a holiday planned soon, and I have nothing planned at all bar a family gathering. I've a couple of ideas for places to visit, but that's it. The whole point of being on holiday is to relax and take things as they come, or at least I think so!

Heyya sarah...I usually like loosely planned vacations. I feel like everything in my life is scheduled so when I have time off...nothing is scheduled..lol. I might have a few things in mind to do but for the most part..it's free sailing.

I am not a fan of planning. Every time I plan something it never goes that way, so I would say loosely planned, I will do what I want when I get there.

I prefer planning of things before I start doing them and most wise people consider it as wise.
