Getting new Union Cyber Eon card

Hello Lotters
Finally a few days ago i have decided to given up my three year old cyber eon card. they were right and the replacement was only worth 150 pesos or close to 4$. the guy teller borrowed my two valid ID's and put a hole on my old debit card
But the process it's on the way. I learned something from the teller though; the card logo is the one that expires, i can still use it for atm withdrawal even with the card has reached the month of expiration. the problem is that it will no longer be good for online transactions, ooops! I don't want that.
. hopefully, either next thursday or Friday i'd give a call first.
Better replace that EON debit card of yours before it gets expired or it will be worthless to online stuff.

i just replaced my card cause i can't remember my pin number anymore. how long does it take before it expires? you mean, you have reached three years before it expires? how about the annual fee? have you heard of it?

Hello annavi, You can check it below the number of your debit card, it only states the month and the year of it's expiration. in my case, the expiration of my card is actually 9/11.as for the annual fee i have seen users who lost 350 per year because of this annual fee thing. but as far as i can remember i never experience it, probably it was deducted and then i never knew it some how.

okay, i can't see it now cause i already gave my card in the bank and still waiting for my card replacement. thanks for the info. yes, about the annual fee i guess we all have to be deducted 350 per year. you have too much earnings that's why you didn't notice if they have deducted 350 from you ...

Thanks Letran for this post coz it just remind me to check my eon's expiration date! haha Really thanks a lot coz my eon is already nearing its expiration date, so I guess its also time for me to renew it. By the way, will my account number remains the same and will not affect any info in paypal?

Hello ckyera, Yes you're bank account will remain in paypal as annavi mentioned. but you still have to change you're debit card because it might cause trouble for online transactions (e.g. buying online) if you don't have it change.

i don't get it, why it should be replaced when you can only renew the card? you can still use the card for atm transactions. meanwhile, what i learned about eon card and paypal, you only need the eon card to validate your identity to paypal. after you have successfully validate your paypal, you will no longer need it. for fund transfer, you only need any other local bank account you may have to register it to paypal.

you can use the new card with other online transactions you may be having in the future or pos accepting card payments. but you are not going to use it with paypal unless you are going to change or add bank service for fund transfer. does it mean, with new eon card, your unionbank account number will be changed or you will get a new account number.

Hello Neildc, I need to make sure that I can still conduct online transactions or having my earnings transferred to my bank account once my earnings are in Paypal. the teller mentioned that it could cause trouble for online transactions, even if you're right i have already done it anyway, I'll be getting it hopefully by tomorrow or friday

In Union bank right?
My card's going to expire in 2012. But I won't wait for my card to reach it's expiration date. I think I have to replace it before the day of the expiration.
When I want it to be replaced, I'll just have to pay 150 right? Are there any requirements aside from two IDs? Do do we have to wait for our card to be processed?

Hello Elsemarie, Yes it is my friend. unfortunately you still have to bring two Valid ID's for them to confirm. but that was my experience when i went there, am not so sure about other branches. well, you can actually have it replaced before the end of the month. a for the card being processed, you have to wait at least a week to get it done, then call them just to check if it's ready. have a nice day

I plan to get a Unionbank EON to replace my existing BPI atm card, that charges me PhP150.00 every time i withdraw from paypal. They said that EON doesn't charge any when you withdraw your online pay. Is that true?
If it really is, then i am really going to apply for an EON card.

3$ every single withdrawal? the only thing that charges me is Paypal which is just one dollar. but there's no charge with Union bank because the bank is originally from US so there's not problem. it must be sad that you're not getting the full amount and instead you are forced to withdraw at least half of the earnings. Sad, but that's it , Letran. So, i would only withdraw every other two months, so i could save on the charge.

Hi there! If I am not mistaken for us to get our payment here in mylot, we need to have an eon card right? I don't have yet. can you tell me how can I get such? I know you need to apply it on union bank. I got my first payment here in mylot last 2008 but through my friends eon card. I don't have any contact with her now so can you help me?Thank you!

you can go to any union bank branch and apply for it. As required bring two valid id cards, you need to pay p350 as annual fee as the account will not be required to have a maintaining balance. You can deposit an initial p10k and a maintaining balance as well if you do not want to pay for the p350 annual fee.

hexebella! I only have one id and that is my school id. I don't have any other id's other than my organization id's in school, which for sure are not accepted. How can I ever register for an eon?

Hello eynjel, Yes you need to have that debit card as well besides paypal. you have to check their site and browse on how to acquire one. you have to present two valid ID's with their respective xerox copies. as for now, have them ready together with 350 pesos as initial deposit. have a nice day .
As for you Mbeldaclan, check the Union Bank Philippines Site and check it yourself for the valid IDs that are needed. it takes two weeks or a month to get it processed.

Hello! thanks for the information! EON Card is the best for me! No maintaining balance is required. They are also international. I already used my eon card to my paypal account. So great eon card- union bank. Thanks for the information that it's better to replace the debit card before the expiry date.

Hello Judelen, That's because the bank is actually from the United States and that's the reason why they didn't have that much fee compare to other local banks that associated with Paypal. they have actually been awarded because of this kind of innovation. anyways, good to know that you are enjoying Eon card

hi LK,
i too had replaced the EON card with a new one. but it was not due to expiration. i have not used the same for more than a year because i was saving up all those paypal payments. and when the time came when i needed to withdraw, i could no longer remember the pin number. although i have saved that paper with the pin number, it could no longer be read as it has faded. the teller said the only way to retrieve the pin number is to request for a new card. it took about a week and now i got a new one. cost is Php150.

yes i have learned my lesson. i now wrote in ink in the paper given by the bank. i dont think that will fade.

Hello tiger aunt, oh, that's sad you have forgotten you're password. you can always put them in a small piece of paper inside you're wallent or write under a picture of your wallet. I had some amount close to 10,000 pesos, if i knew back then i never would have had this kind of trouble in the first place. make sure you bring two valid ID's with xerox copies in it. make sure that the signature is the same too, other wise, they might not accept the valid ID. have a nice day.

Hello Nurseclare, i have joined mylot back in 2008 of september. from then on, i have taken the time to acquire a union bank account with the insights from fellow mylotters.at least have you're card replaced a month before the expiration. though you can still use it after the expiration date, it's the logo that will expire and it will no longer work international transactions. have a nice day

Thank you for reminding me to renew my card. Im due to expire in September so I better move fast or I can't get any payouts by then. At least its still 150 Pesos for the card, I guess inflation does not affect the bank's prices for cards. I also plan to get an account with Unionbank but their minimum maintaining balance is 10,000 pesos or around $250, I guess I'll just stick with the 350 a year thing.

Hello Goggles, You can actually still use it for withdrawing money because it's actually the LOGO that expires. I wouldn't want to go on some bank account because of the required balance. you know back then i used to have a lot of money but if knew something about union bank, i could have prevented myself from spending so much. have a nice day

Heck! So you eon card can't be used for online stuff anymore? Can't they fix it for you? I don't have an eon card yet and I heard that that's the best way to have your Paypal account verified. Problem is, there's no Unionbank branch near Bulacan. My only options are QC and Pampanga. Oh well, thanks for the heads up LetranKnight!

I have graciously use it for the last three years since i joined there and mylot. So, there's no problem for me to at least get a chance to renew it. No, i think the card has served it's purpose after the last three years. you can try other banks to link with you're paypal but there are articles where you can check first which is the 2nd best after union bank. have a nice day.

Hi, I need your help in this. I recently had my expiring eon card replaced at a union bank branch in the city. So, I got a new card number and new expiration date for the card. How do I edit my card info on paypal? Do I edit the expiration date? But when I do that, the card number cannot be edited. Or, do I add a new debit card on my account?
I wanted to know what you did on this one. I just sent paypal an email re: my concern and hoping they would respond. But I am also hoping you can help me out.

and that is my problem now because i cant use my eon card due to expired user name and password,but i already called the hot-line to rest my user name and password,but its still not work maybe i probably link my paypal to my other bank account.
