If you had an abortion, will God still forgive you?

I have this friend, she just turned 18 years old. Recently, she got pregnant. She's in college, and being a teenager and all, people's opinion of her matter a lot. Hence, she and her boyfriend mutually decided to abort the baby. And they did. Now, a few months later, all the stress of the act has caught up with her. She's a Christian, but at the time she turned away from God's presence. And now she's regretting GREATLY what she's done, she confessed to her mother what she did, she's been crying a lot, she's under a lot of stress, and most importantly, she's repenting sincerely for what she's done. Will God still forgive her? I know God's love is so great, that anything is possible. Abortion is still considered as murder, though, right? Will she still have a chance at an eternal life with God? Believers, I need your opinion, please.

Many ladies that have an abortion cry lots after it has been done. The memory of what they have done is very stressful. I can see your friend regrets what she did. At 18 years old some ladies make a big mistake like abortion. I hope that your friend won't suffer depression for the rest of her life. Abortion is killing an innocent baby and yet it is legal. I think that your friend will turn away from Christianity. Good luck to her.

My belief is that we have a benevolent "God" and that this god understands our imperfect, human nature. If she asks forgiveness for what she feels is a mistake, I believe she will receive that forgiveness. Our creator gives us free will and loves us. We are not punished. My beliefs differ from yours, as I am not a Christian, however, I appreciate your concern for your friend.

If she is utmost in repenting what she did God, really a God of love and ready to forgive everything we does unless we ask his forgiveness... Abortion really a great sin because it killed the innocent child which is nothing to do with our mistakes. The law in the land punish those killer into lifetime sentence to the prison. Those abortionist also like the same and the mother is also punish equally the same because that is a grave offense which the law said "infanticide" or "Parricide"... Hope she really repent in what she did...and reading the bible to help her away from conscience...

Yes he will. The point of Christianity should not be where you'll go when you'll die. Thinking and worrying about that is a waste of a good life. Instead, deal with it, move on, and learn to forgive yourself as God is eternally gracious and merciful. Repentance can take time, and so will learning to forgive yourself. Because really, sometimes, between you and God, it's YOU that you have to get out of the way to live a full life.

Of course, all people who come or coming to the Lord, He is there with open arms! Yes, abortion is still murder! Continue praying for her though!

Well I guess that God will forgive us. But why get pregnant so early knowing the consequences. I think everything has its order. However, this friend of yours and I want God to forgive and to give strength to move forward. nice day!

If your friend is Christian person and believe in what the church say about the abortion, she probably know that god forgive everyone, even if they were assasins - which I really don't think that this is the case, because abortion for me, if it was done early, is not a murder since the brain was not yet developed.
