Best Place to live in TX

So one of the top states I'm looking into starting my animal rescue is Texas. I don't know a whole lot about Texas, so I'm hoping someone here is more knowledgeable. Is there a part of Texas that doesn't have natural disasters (I don't know if they get tornadoes or earthquakes)? I also need somewhere that would have good, grassy acreage that won't restrict what I can do on my land.
Thanks!!!

Sorry, I don't know much about Texas state, I never been there, and I never travel there before. So, you might have to wait for someone who actually live there to give you some good advice on it.

Mmmm..don't think you want to have a rescue place in Texas...I have a few on-line friends from there..their summers are in the triple digits, sometimes reaching 115-degrees. As for the idea of grassy acreage....nix that idea if you go to Texas my one friend mentioned they are on severe drought watch...Oh and yes, Texas does get hurricanes...LOL
