Some people would find it silly but I've always been a believer of astrology, the occult and the paranormal. I'd like to think that our world is much more mysterious than we think it is and that gives it character, I think. I would always check my horoscope every time I read the newspaper and most of the time, the predictions come true. Even the astrology book about how certain signs describe people, they are very true. I'm a Taurean, so I'm stubborn and I get to be raging when pushed too far. On the positive side, I'm enduring and reflective and affectionate. Do you believe in your birth sign?

Hello Dear Maxena! I know that many people don't believe in Astrology and they say that it is just a belief that people have in it! Well what ever may be truth, since this science /art has become so popular and it is having a long history there must have been something behind it! Some people say that they could get perfect future predictions while some they disapprove it! What ever may be the out come, the basic thing is that people they visit an astrologer, out of insecurity or curiosity! I don't see anything wrong in believing in the things which boosts up our inner strength and keep us happy! We live in a positive frame of mind and we live with optimism , which is a big boon to have in today's stressful life! When I had talk with some seniors who are having expertise in this science and ask them why the predictions they wrong some times, they answered me that this is also a statistical science which has a data bank of incidences occured in one's correlated with the birth signs or from the Horoscope! They say that it requires immense study and lot of experience! any shortcut methods in predicting one's future can go wrong! Thus I feel today because of these people who may not be as learned and trained like the people who were experts in the past, who are defaming this science! Though personally I am a rational person and don't believe in any supernatural things, I feel that there is nothing wrong so long we believe in the positive things about our life as predicted by Astrologers! But if we start believing in all the negative things and get into depression and making our lives miserable then I would shun such science! We should remember that life is not a bed of roses! One has to be vigilant and constantly work hard to meet the both ends and to have a happy life! This is the law of nature, even the wild animals are also having threat to their life every time, but it is their alertness and vigilance in their life which helps them to survive! Similarly in Human life also we have ups and downs and happiness and sorrows going hand in hand! So we need to face the difficulties in the similar way we invite and embrace the happiness in life! thus in order to boost up our Morales it is OK to believe in Astrology but not to get disturbed by the negative forecasts we get from it! I think most of us are doing the same! We are happy when we are getting any happy forecast is materialised and keep ourselves boosted up and feel cheerful about the life! Thanks for the thought provoking discussion I liked participating in it!

I was a big believer for most of my life. I did all the fortune teller stuff a few times a year and I read my horoscope every day and yes, we can mold our horoscope to fit our day and believe they were right, they are so generalized. Even the stuff they say about a person being born under their signs and what they say about them, so generalized that you believe you are what they say about a taurean...I know from experience. The one day I woke up and realized it was just another job for most of the fortune tellers. Do you know a real fortune teller that tells people their furtures without getting paid for it? I have a story to tell on this. I was shopping one day in a local mall and came across this big line-up so I being nosy wanted to see why so I went to the front of the line to see the line-up was for a fortune teller. I look at who is signing up and taking the money and it is my cousin. And then I read the sign and it is my aunty doing the fortune telling. My aunty who hasn't a bone in her body or a brain that would know people's futures. She was never a fortune teller before, all her life as she was then in her late 40's. So later that evening I phoned her and asked her what's going on with that and she told me she took a course at our local community college and got her degree just like with any other course and she is now a fortune teller by trade and can legally read people's futures. She makes a really good living doing it as there are so many people out there that believe in it. She is still doing it today. She is no more a fortune teller than I am. She has no special powers...she learned what the cards and tea leaves and palms say...in school of all places. So I am no longer a believer. If I read my horoscope it is out of fun now. Cheers and happy mylotting my friend Talk to you soon, Chris

Yes I definatly agree with this!! This has reigned true with me so many times and I think it actually adds to my character. It creates an aura of mystery and enchantment to me. I am very trustworthy and care a great deal for those around me. But when crossed I naturally sting the offender. But I give people such trust and take each person at their word until I SEE otherwise. I also beleive that there are certain people that have a gift to understand things beyond whats "normal" I have this nack in some areas. And I embrass it as well as each person for who they are not what they are or where they come from. I am Scorpio. I have heard that they can be a bit hostile, but me when left alone I am no threat. I am what I like to call a mature Scorpio.

I believe that the world is round and that the universe is vast. I believe in science but I believe also in God. The word mysterious will be eliminated when everything in the universe will be explained and that we can understand everything we seem not to. Astrology? I don't entirely believe in it but it doesn't hurt to try. My fate is not dictated by Astrology it is me who dictates my fate. Whatever we do no matter how simple it is it will alter your fate, so we should watch out for our decisions and actions. It is us who makes our lives happy not astrology. I was born in the year of the rooster and in the month of the lion. I don't know if this is good but I can assure you it is. I always make myself on the top and until now, at work I'm still on the top. That's the result of me working and striving hard not some damn words you take from a newspapers horoscope. I hope you can see my point and not rely entirely on Astrology.

I don't believe in astrology that much but yes I like it to read for fun. It kind of resemble our personality types sometimes but one can do it even with his/her subtle writing style! And honestly daily predictions seem to be rarely accurate..most of the time they would just change the sentences and write the same things under all signs..

I had a good friend who was an astrologer and he casted my chart and we talked at quite length about it. I am a Libra, but there is much more to it than just my sun sign I discovered. I had Cancer rising at the time of my birth and that meant that I had many Cancer characteristic in my personality and although also Libra traits, the sign of Cacner comes through very strongly to me. However, it doesn't stop there. I have many of my planets in Scorpio at birth signifying that I would pay more than a casual interest in the "unseen" aspects of life, and this rang so very true, because I practice Zen and am a therapist based on those Zen principles. I would say that if the moon can effect the tides and moods of people on earth, why not the other planets. I don't blindly follow it like many people do, but I do find it interesting and have proved to myself that there is more in it than meets the eye. As a Zen practitioner I feel that we have free choice, but there is always challenges in life, and those challenges can really enhance our spirituality. _Derek

I do read on astrology from time to time but in my case, I just do it for fun. There are those that fit what is written but mostly I do not see much relevance. Well, perhaps its not for me. But I do agree on paranormal things considering that I have several encounters on those stuff. The world is full of mystery indeed and I guess there are those that cannot be proven by science alone.

I do believe some how...and that is because over the years I have met people with same star signs and they tend to behave quite the same it really is cunning and amazing! my youngest daughter is a Taurus she is generous and giving but oh boy don't push her too far because she also has a fiery temper!

If it helps you to cope with your life, that is good. But I, personally, could never take it seriously.

I don't think I can believe in stars for guidelines. I have always a doubtful person whenever I hear of future predictions, and mostly I don't want to know what gonna happen to me in minutes time. I prefer walking in darkness than in light that can easily die down leaving a the same darkness to take control. What I mean is, people who believe in Astrological signs cannot feel comfortable when they have not read the day's predictions and when things go unexpectedly.. its become hard for them to see the reality of life. My grandmother used to believe in astrology, she could tell how the day would be and mostly warnings not to go against her predictions. In those days I used to believe whatever she said, mostly doing all she suggested. As days passed, the more curious I became, I wanted to see what could happen is I go against it. I did it and it was okay. From then I knew it was all lies. Anyway, any believe in something creates a god... and that god performs all miracles that one expects. For this note, I do know that if you believe in astrology, then most of things predicted can turn out positive. But not always.

I'm Christian so I'm not suppose to believe in horoscopes and astrology. I don't get how people even make these predictions by just looking at the stars. Stars are just stars. What are they going to tell you? And where do the predicted qualities come from? I see heaps of them in the newspapers and little horoscope books and they all say something different. Sometimes they are kinda true but maybe a person surveyed people born in that month and made horoscopes from that. You never know.

Sometimes I believe it, and other times I don't want to believe it when there are things I don't want to happen. Overall I don't believe it because more than half of the things don't turn out true.

Yes i believe Max! It still scares me a little and i don't always know what to think or what to believe but i think that there is too much information out there for it all not to be true. I am also a taraus and i think that i posses many of the traits outlined for taurus. I am also quite stubborn and bull headed at times. I like to read my horoscope but don't take it to drsatically like some people.

I am interested in when the astrology planets go retrograde, because the past actions or people from the past show up again in one way or another. About my birth sign I have only a few alikes of it. I'm more a mixture of each sign in the overall of me.

I believe in paranormal but I don't believe in astrology. Don't get me wrong, I read my astrology once in a while. I easily belive what I read be it on astrology or not. When I read something on my daily sign and it will not come true, I get lonely and affected. LOL
