I keep wondering ... This 2 countries have a long common border. In the past rumors was that - despite China was communist, Soviet Union have supported India including with armament while China was secretly supported by USA. Both countries are nuclear power. China and India are top 1 and 2 as population number. Both have "internal" prob;ems - India with Pakistan, China with Taiwan. But I NEVER hear of ANY project together ... Do this 2 countries have something they do together? Anything? Like a car, a bridge, a power plant, a festival, a sport competition, something?

India and China both have huge populations. They are both becoming more developed. Last night I watched a program on television about India and was surprised to see its new roads. I hope that in the future we could get rid of visas because only a passport should be essential. I would like to see land borders opening up for foreigners and local people. In the past there was a trail from Britain to India. At the current time travel from Britain to Turkey would be easy. Though going through Iran and Pakistan could be problematic. Getting visas and having dangerous times in Pakistan would be the biggest worries for that trip. At the current time if an agency helped it would be easy to travel overland from Britain to China. The journey would involve a train from Moscow to Beijing. It would be a completely safe trip. The visas for Russia, Mongolia and China would be pricey. Charlie is a television man that did a program called "By Any Means". In that area he had to take a flight due to the border not letting him in!

Hi wmraul, I know a lot of people on MyLot that are from India but they rarely talk about politics. I would be interested to hear their opinions. I have friends from America that moved to India. They had some troubles adjusting to India but no major complaints so far.

In my view, there's few things in common between India and China except for two aspects. One is that both China and India have large populations in the world, most of which are relatively poor. The other is that both countries used to reject free market economy to some extent and gradually accepted it. As a Chinese, I could say that most Chinese know little about India. I guess most Indians have the similar impression towards China. It's quite necessary for people from India and China to enhance the communication, which could reduce many misunderstanding at least.

What connects India to China is the religion Buddhism, this religion originated in India but was popularly accepted in China and in the neighboring Asian countries
