The only problem is being consistent. Apart from availability one tends to be a bit lazy! Also anything that is routine loses its newness and we have a tendency to put it off. I used to drink carrot juice but have stopped. May be now I should start again!

I agree! You should eat carrots. A friend of mine said that a eye doctor once told them that he (the doctor) made his child eat raw carrots for several months. The child's eye is 150 (1.50) before the "eating carrot routine", after several months, it became 50 (.50). The doctor himself said that and I believed that too. I tried that for a month, I think. But, I stopped because I wasn't able to keep a constant supply of fresh and raw carrots. But you can try it if you want, so as to keep your eyes sharp and healthy.

Dear Myn3wlif3! the fruits rich in Vitamin A are helpful for having good eye functioning! Deficiency of this vitamin in the diet may lead to many eye problems like night blindness and other eye problems. so it is very important to supplement this Vitamin through the diet! The colored fruits and Vegetables like mango,Papaya, carrots, melons, peaches, oranges, Beets have precursor f Vitamin A by name carotene which gets converted into Vitamin A once we consume these products and this can be useful for proper functioning of the eyes!!!! But working in front of the computer may make your eyes very stressful physically! I don't think just having these fruits will help you! at this juncture I think you must consult your eye specialist and talk with him/her in details about your nature of job and as per his advise you can go in for some anti glare spectacles which will protect your eyes from harmful radiation from the computer screen!!!! There can be some eye drops also which your eye specialist can recommend you which will keep your eyes healthy and may make you feel comfortable. External application of slices of cucumber may give some relief for the tired eyes and good sound sleep is a big requirement to keep your eyes healthy after a tiresome work of 12 hours! All the best! take care and visit your eye specialist very soon! Thanks !!!!

Hello Dear Myn3wlif3! Thanks for selecting my response as the best one! sorry for being late in acknowledging! Yes, I understand fruits are no more cheaper now a days. In India the cost of fruits and Vegetables are touching the sky! There was a joke on TV other day, which said that 'It is dangerous to purchase Vegetables or fruits all alone, because some one can rob and hurt you for them!'. But this is the fact here, if things continue like this then fruits would be just a dream for middle class people and we need to tell tales about these to our grand children! Thanks again for the BR and please take care of your self and especially your eyes as you are subjecting them a lot to the radiation! All the best! Bye!!!!!

According to the doctors on a doctor TV show here in the U.S., kiwi are supposed to be very good for the eyes, especially in preventing macular degeneration. They said kiwi was the best food and fruit for such purposes. Not pertaining to fruit but something that is recommended is what is sometimes called the rule of 20, every 20 minutes focus on something that is 20 feet away for 20 secs.

Fruits rich in beta-carotene are good for the health of the eyes. Ripe papaya eaten as is or made into a shake; raw baby carrots or steamed carrots, carrot juice- they have it in cans at Trader Joe's; mangoes; peaches; apricots; or any kind of yellow fruits available. But, don't overdo it because too much of Vitamin A is harmful. Staring at the computer for 12 hours a day can cause eye strain. Turn your light off, close your eyes and relax. Close your eyes tightly and keep it that way for a few seconds. Repeat this 5 times and relax. You can also put 2 spoons in the freezer for a while, close your eyes and put the spoons on your eyelid. This can also help to relieve you of your eyes strain. Don't forget to visit your eye doctor for a check up. God bless you and keep you healthy and happy, myn3wlif3!

Many fruits can have a tremendous impact on your vision. Adding fruits to your daily menu will not only make it much tastier but will help you improve your vision naturally. Blueberries. Blueberries are an excellent source of vitamin C which makes them one of the top fruits good for eyesight. Lemons. Lemons are a great source of vitamin C and various phytonutrients with antioxidant effect. Antioxidants are very good for retaining good vision and lowering the risks of various eye conditions because they neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals on the eye cells. Those are excellent fruits to protect the eyes.

Fruits rich in vitamin A. But I think when you feel your eyes are tired and strained too much from using computer you should rest for while or you should stare at different scenes in your place so that the muscles in your eyes are not fixed to one direction, you can try look at the ceiling once in a while, look side by side or close your eyes for a minute.
