OK, I'm going to be a little vague here, can't help it. First of all, I have XP. I had bjust deleted firefox. I shut down my computer. turned on my computer the next day and almost nothing worked. I hit control panel, got a message windows can't open this file, notepad, ccan't open this file. All of the programs, got the same thing. Couldn't even open IE. I was able to open Opera to at least get on the internet. I looked around. I finally found "go to previous backup." I hit it. Everythting worked perfect. I was able to open all of the programs. I noticed Firefox was back on, but I wasn't going to mtouch that again! One day I decided to open firefox, mit woldn't open. Again, no big deal. But now, in "add and remove programs, when you hit remove, it turns light blue for a few seconds, then back to dark blue. In my experience, when you hit remo ve, it disappears. Again, it won't open, but I'm thinking it's taking up space on my computer.

Try going into control panel and try to see if you can remove it from there. You may also decide to just repair or change it instead of removing it. Just deleting it would not uninstall it. You may also check under its options in start menu and probably there will be the uninstall option there too.

That's what I did, and that's what is not working, It's there in control panel under currently installed programs. But I'm not sure I mentioned something else; it's not in start menu, even though IE and Opera is. It's so weird, I'm no longer worried about it.

Just go to program files, delete the entire directory, and try uninstalling it again.

1. Have you tried to install Firefox again? What happen after that? Can you open the Firefox then?(usually installer work for "install" or "repair" the program) 2. Have you ever try to cleaning the registry... err, or to make it simple, try to install Revo Uninstaller - http://www.revouninstaller.com/ it would remove the program completely, without leaving any leftovers (files, folders, registries) on computer. Hope it would help ^^;

Try downloading and installing Ccleaner. Check all the checkboxes from both tabs to clean all temporary files. If that didn't solve the problem, try re-installing Firefox again, then install RevoUninstaller, and use it to remove Firefox. If that still didn't help, try scanning your pc using your anti-virus or Malwarebytes, maybe you have been infected.
