The Power of Nature

Hi guys, I just witnessed today the power of the hurricane/tropical storm Irene when it passed by me with high winds. After the winds calmed down I checked for the damage but I saw that the storm skipped me and destroyed a whole lot of trees in the area. I took a ride around the places I know and witnessed how many trees were destroyed and roads blocked. Do you guys think that this could be a way in which Nature takes care of old trees to make space for newer healthier? Anyway I think Nature is amazing when you think about the force with which it comes. What do you guys think?
