Dancing In The Rain

Hurricane Irene was a very good time to do some dancing and singing in the rain, depending on what area you lived in, or if it hit you at all. My area took it very mildly, we just had strong winds and rain, though I live at the top of a hill, so the water did not even flood the basement too much. We didn't lose power, surprisingly. Well, during the night when everyone was asleep, I went out alone to get soaked in the rain. I kind of danced around and sang that song, that goes, "Someone left the cake out in the rain," because I'm just so funny! It was kind of boring though, because my dog refused to dance with me. I would have liked to kiss my boyfriend out in the rain, but he lives out in California right now and I live in New Jersey, so I guess that will just have to wait until we move in together in the next two years or so. It's still very fun to go out in the rain in your bare feet and pajamas, even if you are alone. It's kind of refreshing, even the water in the shower doesn't feel so clean. It's pure, from the sky, as long as it isn't acid rain or anything.

hi:) back in our province when I was still 7-9 yrs old I always play in the rain with my cousins, but we do it when there is only a heavy rain without typhoon signal, because it's dangerous to play outside when there is a storm. it's really fun to do this.

It was good that you had a mild effect from the hurricane Irene. It sounds as it struck differently on the coastline and inland places. I do hope everyone can restore and get back to their usually living. Rain is refreshing when it is gently pouring down. Have a wonderful day! Happy mylotting!

I remember playing in the rain when I was a child. Mom wasn't one that believed you'd get sick if you got wet so we'd walk in the rain and splash in the puddles. She taught us how to make boats out of newspapers and we'd sail them down the gutters and catch them before they went down the storm drain! It was so much fun! I let my own kids play in the rain, when there was rain. They were raised in the desert Southwest, unfortunately, so there were no gutters or storm drains and damned little rain. But what there was, was fun. I'm glad you had a good time, making the best of the storm. I have always thought "McArthur's Park" was a really strange song, I remember when it first came out and everyone remarked how long it was and nobody understood what the heck he meant. But it was such a sad song.

You are excited about the rain from Hurricane Irene, but unfortunately , many people's home were flooded with deluge. In my humble opinion, at this moment, everyone should embody what we called humanistic concern. It's a disaster, rather than a gentle rain.

Hurricane Irene was nothing like what I expected (THANK GOD!!!). I stayed up until six in the morning just waiting for this natural disaster to occur but all i got was the sound of some fierce winds. I believe the storm we got last week, in Ny, was worst than the hurricane. Thanking god that it wasn't that bad in NY and praying for those that lost their lives.

Back when Ohio had gotten the remnants of hurricane Ike, we lost electricity for 4 days..So one day my daughter and I took some biodegradable shampoo and washed our hair in the rain...LOL Glad you only got winds and rain and still have your power...

I keep hearing reports from all kind of myLotters like this: "things went ok." That is great! I am glad to see that for many areas, the hurricane was no more than a very bad storm! It is always nice to hear that a fellow myLotter was bypassed by the worst of it. It is even more spectacular that your power stayed on! :) I can understand that pure feeling the rain gives! If you think about it, rain and the cycle it is part of is nature's water purification system so it is really no surprise rainwater feels so fresh. I love going out in it myself. There is nothing quite like taking a stroll - or a dance - in the rain. I do hope you and your boyfriend get together again soon! :)
