Yes I own a bible and the version that I use is Reina Valera 1960, Why? Because I am spanish speaker and feel more comfortable reading in my own language, and why Reina
Valera because of the excellent use of the Spanish language, this version have being revised multiple times in order to be update with the evolution of the Spanish and was revised 1960 by the Bible Society in Latin America.
I have an English bible too the King James Version which is good too but I prefer my Spanish bible.
Why do I love to read the bible? Because is God's word, and when we read the bible we are reading a message from God himself.Everyone who receive bible's message is promised to receive the gift of eternal in the Lord Jesus Christ,God's son.
I bless you my friend and I hope in God that all of those who doesn't have had a meeting with God can have it soon, because God is life.

I totally agree with Rosa26. Through God's Word, we get messages from God Himself. It is like the counterpart when we speak to Him in our prayers.

I wish I can speak Hebrew and read Hebrew because it's the most accurate and canonical version of the bible. Sadly I can't speak Hebrew so I prefer the King James version of the bible. That's what my church is using. That's what the hell my pastor is using. I have two copies of the King James version of the bible. The other versions have an accurate translations that leads to multiple different sects of Christianity. The other versions for two on inaccurate for me.

Yes, I agree with you since Hebrew is where our Bible originally written. If only all people knows Hebrew and understands it, I think there will be no other translations made. By the way, from what church/denomination are you?

About my religion, that is something very personal to me. There's no need to guess it but I can give you a clue, in my religion we used the King James version but those who can speak Hebrew prefers the Hebrew version. Correction to my typo error : I said accurate not inaccurate.

The original Old Testament was written in Hebrew, but the original New Testament was written in Greek-Aramaic. I suggest, if you really want to study the Bible in its original text while at the same time, have its meaning in English, I suggest you download the free Bible program eSword. I used it to know if the version I am currently reading correctly translated it from the original words. You will be surprised to know that many newer translations today are so far away from the original ones.

Yes, and I like the KJV of the bible. It's the most accurate I believe, and though hard to understand, I believe it's eloquence carries more message to me and for me then any other version.

That's interesting to learn that you stick with KJV. For me, NIV works cuz I find it easier to understand. Anyway, they are still Bible and I believe that God helps us by His Holy Spirit to understand his words in many ways. God bless you.

I prefer interlinear Hebrew bible because some of the translated bibles are injected by the ideas of translators which probably not meant to say by the original writer.

I have an NIV, a King James and a Filipino version. And I read all of them. I also have eSword installed. The reason for it is that, whenever there is something I don't understand, I try to compare the translations, especially the newer ones, with the King James version. The eSword Bible program is one great free Bible-study tool also. It has the original words used in the original manuscripts with their meaning in English. You will be surprised to discover that some newer translations are so far away from the original words used.

Like toniobacasno, I also look for othr translation in other languages to easily understand what the verses mean in the King James version.
Right now, I use King James and the Ang Biblia (Tagalog) version of the Bible. I bought the Diglot Bible for my birthday this year. By chance there are also the version available I got and put on the site I'm building (through God's provision and help) at http://taglish.authorizedbible.org

It seems like you really love the King James Version. I own one too before but I preferred looking up for the more easy translation for me. But, it's interesting to know about eSword, haven't known that before. I'll be checking it out! Thanks!

I grew up with the King James version of the bible. Of course in english. I don't really believe alot in the Old Testament. With the New Testamnet I do believe in most of it. Some of the Old Testament stories are stories that are over blown. I think the bible is a good read for some people. Some people believe everything that is in the bible and I think that is wrong. You should have an open mind when reading the bible! The bible was wrote centuries ago and we do not live in the times when the bible takes place! Things change and that is not all bad! I believe God loves everyone no matter who they are!

The bible that I have always had is the NIV as well. I like that one because the English in that version of the bible. My sister-in-law has a King James version of the bible and I've read it a few times and it is a lot more difficult to read because of the fact that it tends to use more of the old English than the New International Version does.
With that said, I think that it doesn't matter which version of the bible that you prefer because the message is always the same.

Yes i own a bible and i use most all translations but i use the NIV the most. when i read with my kid, they understand i better.
