I am interested in making a website of my own. What are the subjects or languages which i should cover in order to make a good website. Please suggest.

A knowledge of html is important, even with a WYSIWYG editor. If you are looking for something that will alow you to build a site with a minimum of coding take a look at Adobe Muse. http://muse.adobe.com/ It is in bata now so you can download it and try it for free. It is quite powerful but to get the most out of it you will need to spend the time working through the tutorial provided.

What exactly do you mean? Programming / developing languages? Or about subjects to write about in blog/site? If you are talking about the first ones, simply forget it you want a site for at least 1 year while you will go to courses to learn html, css, js, php, flash .. at least. 1 year at minimum, if you do only that 12-16 hours a day (only that = learn and practice). If you are asking about subject to write, then the best subjects are those you know something bout and you like speaking about and doing it.
