Reached 10,000 unread email messages! What am I going to do with this?

Now I already reached 10,000 unread email messages and keeps getting higher. I don't read email messages from mylot, facebook, youtube, etc. since in some instance the loading is slow. I don't know if time will come and yahoo won't be able to hold tons of messages in my inbox since I don't deleted any messages at all and currently I have close to 20,000 messages in my inbox. How about you guys do you read all messages in your inbox? do you delete them after reading?

I have made folders in my mail. Once i have opened them, if I don't respond or comment immediately then I send them to the folders for later. I have over 10,000 notifiers of started discussions by my friends and one day I wil have the time to get to them all (assuming some will also have been deleted too by then). If you don't read them then why do you keep them?

As I have said it's getting too slow to delete some times and talking about 10k messages. I don't want to spend some time just to delete unread messages. Even if most of it aren't important I just don't want to delete them at the moment.

I also get a great deal of emails but I created filters with specially named folders. Yes it can be very high at times and I do try to skim through them often so they do not pile up. I do searches of the emails I know I will never need and deleted all in one sitting to lessen them. There will be a time where your inbox will be full to it's capacity, so you might want to filter and or delete any you think are of no importance.

I read most of my incoming emails and will delete them once I've gone through them. Having so many emails in our mail box will slow down the computer. That explains why your loading is slow as you are keeping so many mails in your inbox.

Thanks for the response. That explains why when I open my mail loading is slow since I have tons of messages. Thanks for the advice. I'll delete them soon anyway.

The best way to solve this is to report those unwanted email marked as spams so that your email add will put them on spam folder. You can also unsubscribe to these emails to blocked them from sending more spam. If you want to, try making a new email add and be careful not to subscribe newsletters from those spammers again.

I wouldn't even bother looking at these messages. Just get a new email address , it'd be so much easier.

If you change your email address for myLot then be sure to change it in your preferences. Some mails from myLot are important like the notifiers for deleted posts. We can learn from them.

Thanks for the response but creating a new email add is not an option. I'll try to clean them soon enough if I have time.

Hi Jacruz! Wow! 10,000 is a lot! Why did you let it pile up like that? I don't even let my inbox pile up with unread messages close to 100. If my unread messages is closing to 50, I'm already freaking out as to how am I gonna read them all. I always read notifications from myLot because that is where I sort out discussions that I will respond to and those I can delete already. Emails from other websites which I subscribe from, I either delete them or read them first before deleting depending on their email subjects. But of course, I first read those emails which are more important to me, usually work-related or school-related. Good luck sorting your inbox. ^^

I don't really know if how much is the capacity of inbox in yahoomail. I just keep deleting my inbox. I always read response from mylot but not on facebook. Currently, I have 5000 plus messages on my inbox. I will delete it all if it reached 10,000.

A part of the messages will all arrive in my spam box. These are the ones which are less important. Private mail I read first. People I don't like I block, if they keep writing (different address) I delete it without even reading it. Some messages I delete others I save. I save them in different boxes so I can find them back. I must admit this doesn't always work.

you have 10,000 unread emails! wow, i feel like such a failure, i only have about 2,500. but i do delete some quite regularly, and i even read some too! i have 3,426 in total. i juxt start deleting and then i get bored. but also i find its quite a good filing system, especially for forgotten usernames, as if i search my mail i can usually find the origianl email when i signed up to some long forgotten website.
