Weaning from pacifier.

Hello everyone especially to the mommies. I have a 21 months old son named Ryan. He is so adorable but he's got pacifier that he doesn't want to let go. I think i tried everything to wean him from the pacifier but it seems like its not working.I put spices, bitter taste to his pacifier but he doesn't care about it. I wean him from his bottle and his sippy cups very easy. But this one is tough. Please i need suggestions and some tips to wean my son from his pacifier. I have my second son and he is 3 months old and i decided to not let him use a pacifier. I think that is better for me and for him.

With my son and daughter I literally had to throw them in the trash in front of them. They would hide them in their toys. I would think they were all gone and my son would walk out with one in his mouth. I think they just need to know that it is not okay to use it anymore, explain why and give it a little time. Start a reward system for not asking for it anymore and each day give them something to look forward to for being a big boy or girl. =)

Wow! well i tried that and what he did is he took the pacifier when im not looking and give it back to me and ask me to wash it. I will definitely want to try the reward system. Thank you so much.

I just took the pacifier from my kids I didn't wing them off anything when it was time for it to go it was time for them to go, because I got tired of looking for those things all the time everytime we would lose them or she felt like throwing it some where, and then when we could not find them she would cry, aww buddy then I said oohh no honey these have to go, LOL but as for my two year old she just got tired of them.

Wow thats great, i wish my son is like that. But it seems like he is really connected to his pacifier. Good for you. :-)
