I am on a weight loss program but I still have a bulging tummy. How could i make it flat? Any advice you can share? I have done cardio exercises but it seems that there's no effect on my tummy. :-( I may be not performing the exercise properly?

Hi Janevi. The only thing that helps my tummy is to lay off the carbonated drinks for a couple of days and there is a biiiggg difference believe it or not. But, unfortunately it doesn't help the rest of it. I never had a sign of a tummy in my life until about 5 years ago, and amazingly enough it is there now and doesn't want to go away. Now if I lay off the sweets long enough and walk a decent number of time and a decent length of time, I lost a little weight, and I can see it working off the tummy. I just don't stay at it, so it just appears all over again. I get so tired of that!

I am not fond of carbonated drinks either.I don't eat rice anymore just to trim down my belly but it seems that it's quite hard to let it go. I don't like to undergo a bariatric surgery. That's very expensive.

I'm afraid I'm like you, chrystaltears. I was skinny all my life until I hit 40. Then the pounds started to creep one, but I had a friend I could walk 6-10 miles a week with. When I moved here, I had such a friend part of the time, but she moved, and I ahve put on about 40 pounds since she moved. Most of it has gone to the tummy, though some is also in my face and other places. Most of my life I was 110 or under. I know what I should do, but I just don't. It's not safe to walk by myself after dark when I have the most time and it's cool enough, and I don't have time to have a dog.

Crunches would help but don't expect a miracle in a matter of weeks. It needs months to see real improvements. Continue with your cardio, do the crunches. A thousand crunch a day would be helpful. It's not that difficult as compared to sit ups and your focus is on your abdomen. So proper crunches would do in helping eliminate that bulging tummy of yours. Good luck!

Hey, janevi, this is a cool discussion. I have the same question myself. It's cool that you've posted it. At least, I get to learn from the responses too! :)

Thank you for finding this topic cool.:-) Like you I'm learning a lot from the point of views from other mylotters. I think this is a very common concern among women with less physical activity and those who have reached their mid-life.:-) but it seems that only few are really affected by it:-D based on the responses. what do you think?:-D

Hi Janevi, Even I also have this tummy and struggling to shed it. But one thing i can asure you is that if you have a lot of water intake it will help you to reduce soon. I dont know much about the types of excercise but crunches helps a lot. And one more thing dont have food just after you are done with the excercise and most important is that control on your tounge especailly for food [:)]. Listen to your body and do accordingly. Usually we have a habbit of eating as per the time not as per our state of hunger and this takes all to add on to our tummy. Hope this helps. Cheers ! Vishu
